[RELz] and Topic thread. Roleplaying Homes

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 1:43 pm

Hello all.

As some of you know I'm working on a series of player home mods called Roleplaying Homes. These are simple, no-bells-and-whistles, and hopefully well made homes tailored to particular classes and play styles. So far two homes have been released.

Woodsman's Shack (Ranger/Hunter) - http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1381076-relz-woodsmans-shack-player-home/

Forlorn Keep (Evil/Dark) - http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1382240-relz-forlorn-keep-evildark-player-home-roleplaying-homes/

What I wanted to do was bounce some ideas around with you folks, to get a sense of where I can take this project.

Some ideas I have at the moment (nothing specific incase someone steals it ;) lol) are:

Barbarian home
Vampire home (req Dawnguard DLC)
Farm home with crops and livestock

I'd really like to hear some suggestions, after all it's you guys that'll be using the mods, not just me :)

P.S. Would it be better for me and the forums if I open a thread for every home when released, or from now just use this one?

I play as an Orc Chieftain so I think it would be nice to have a decently sized stronghold. Something like http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13764 would be perfect. The only real problem I have with it is that random events spawn right next to it, which gets annoying. It would be nice to have a stronghold that is not plagued by random events.

What I would like to see in Skyrim is something similar to http://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/02/22/homes-to-let/ in Morrowind. A series of no-frills houses located in each major city (or areas in between) that can be leased or purchased (perhaps a little of both), that look "average" and fit in with the rest of the game. My favorite hideout was a small flat in Balmora.

Based on your statement of "simple, no-bells-and-whistles, and hopefully well made homes", I think this would be compatible with your vision.

I like the sound of that definitely. Yea there are plenty of huge project homes with scripting and frills, but I'm not fussed on that, just want a nice home.

I'll look into that mod and see what ideas pop up. Were they all in the same mod? Or each home it's own?

As for the Orc stronghold, I am keen on that anyway but seems too specific, and there are a couple already that I know of, that are Orc stronghold projects. I could easily create a nice one though, with none of the interruptions you mentioned :P

Edit:
Actually after thinking about it, Orc stronghold is going on my list. Let's be honest, you can't have too many Orc Stronghold mods ;)

A small or a medium sized necromancers cave would be nice. Preferably some friendly necromancer NPC's there to make it feel like a small community trying to avoid public eyes.

Some blood on the walls, magical red lights, few corpses, fog... You know the drill.

I like the idea mate. My evil tower mod is for a more generic evil player, with necro in mind. But a cave for necromancers with some NPCs sounds interesting to :)
