Dawnguard - Vampirism Theories?

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 3:28 pm

So I'm wondering, do you think if you are already a vampire in the main game, will it matter in Dawnguard or will you have to be a human to transform for the first time IN Dawnguard to get the new perks.

Also, I am a werewolf with no way of overiding the curse ( I accidentaly destroyed the witches heads, stupid right? ), would that Vampirism hopefully overide it or would they hate me on sight?

I dont believe you can be both but look on the wikia and see if there is a way to get rid of the curse, but wether the dawnguard will hate you is questionable because from what ive seen, they fight off vampires. vampirism i dont think will overide the curse, and i think if you are a vampire and talk to the dawnguards, they will probably kill you... or try to at least.

I know that in morrowind you could be both a vampire and werewolf at the same time, but whenever I would transform into a werewolf I would have the body of the werewolf and the head would look like nosforatu (sp) turned 180 degrees so that he was looking directly behind himself (it was disappointing)

I assume it will be a new strain of vampirism or something, or possibly not even a disease at all. Maybe it is a curse/Gift from one of the daedra ala Hircine with the werewolves.

This. We've already heard of different strains of vampirism having different abilities. Perhaps this is just one of the more pure forms.

I hope it is. Perhaps without the [censored] weakness to sunlight.

I sure hope we do not adopt a new strain of vampirism. My vampire is not going to give up his vampirism just to change the strain to adopt a new pair of wings and tattered undies.

If I am not mistaken, I am willing to bet that these vampires are in a pact with a Daedric Prince. It seemes these supernatural creatures don't enjoy the way they already are, so they talk to the ones responsible for their creation. For example, the Cyrodiilic vampires made a pact with Clavicus Vile. If they can feed everyday, then can blend in society looking like mortals. If they wanted more physical strength and vampiric powers, they would have to endure 72 hours of starvation and lose their human features. Likewise, the werewolves of the Companions made a pact with the Witches of Glenmoril. if they would hunt in the name and honor of Hircine, they would be granted great power. We can assume this "great power" mentioned by Kodlak is the power to control their Lycanthropy in beast form and not succumb to lunar transformations.

Maybe these new vampires did a pact with Molag Bal or something to receive a pair of wings. Maybe to fly out of that vampire netherworld/Oblivion realm of the dead we see in the trailer.

Considering the plot is blocking out the sun, I still think they will be weak in sunlight

I want them to Burn in the Sunlight, not weakened.
doesn't matter how much, it could be 1-damage per second on the 4th phase only and i'd be satisfied.
It'd be cool if they added that, but right now i'm not happy with Vampires D:

But i also do hope that the Dawnguard have some cool tricks up their sleaves as well, to make up for not being a badass vampire. Crossbows are a nice start.

That would be dumb. They have even done werewolves in 1st person before. It's so unnecessary to restrict the camera to 3rd person in that Vampire Lord/Lady form.

Not everyone wants to use 3rd person. I use 3rd person from time to time, but 1st person as main all the way.

There is no logical reason to force 3rd person. If people want to look at the wings and animations, they can switch to 3rd person anytime.

and since vampires in Skyrim can be played in 1st person, so should Vampire Lord/Lady form.

Yes they should give us the option to switch..but i really doubt we'll get both 1st and 3rd camera.Werewolves had 3rd person view only even if it would be no problem to give us a 1st person too...but oh well we'll have to wait and see. :twirl:

I'm hoping Beth release at some point 1st person view for werewolves, horse riding, this vamp lord thing... I'm not a 1st person player only but having the option to choose is really what makes the difference.
