So Vampires are Gargoyles now?

So I watched that Dawnguard trailer, and when I saw the vampire transformation, I thought:

For those of you that don't know, that was a disney cartoon called Gargoyles that came out in the 1990's

Personally, I like my vampires to not look like a werebat. That part was a little disappointing. I don't want my vampires all "Twilight" and lame, but I don't want them turning into creatures that look like a man took a giant bat on a date, got her drunk, and took her back to his hotel room either. I always thought the best part of vampires was that they looked exactly (well almost exactly) like a normal person except they craved blood and had supernatural powers. Almost like a night-dwelling, superpowered serial killer. In Skyrim it seems they are just werebats.

Hopefully I can be a powerful super-vampire without having a lame transformation with the help of mods. Maybe a pureblood ancient vampire who is digusted at these other vampires and their diluted, bestial forms? I'm trying to turn a negative into a positive here. :)

Just my $0.02

Loved that cartoon was in my young days, Brooklyn was my favorite lol. But no, gargoyles are their own creatures, now there may be a twist in the plot that make them vampiric.

Quite frankly, I view it as a releif from our standard humanoid vampires that pervades modern culture.

Especially after the Legacy of Kain series died and left us hanging....

Seriously when I watched the trailer and saw that one quick shot of the transformation from the side I was like "woah" its Goliath from Gargoyles.

The vampire lords look more like a demon to me then a bat which is good. I think that you think the gargoyle in the trailer is a vampire lord and thats not the case.

It is confirmed that the thing in the wall is indeed a gargoyl. So it seems vampires and gargoyls are both tied.

A comic series DC publishes called I, Vampire has the same thing going, werebat gargoyles things going for it. Its hardly unique.

Nowadays it seems like people either want to go the over the top romantic Twilight route, or the over the top bestial gargoyle vampire route.

If I was a stage 4 vampire, I'd want a transformation like in Bram Stoker's Dracula, where he could transform into a normal looking person, where he could walk in the company of mortals in the daylight for a time.

I'm talking about in the end where the dude is draining that person and you're seeing it from a sideview.

This so much.

As much as I liked Gary Oldman, do we really need more of the suave, sophisticated vampire playboys?

And before anyone says they are ripoffs of the Underworld iterations, I honestly think they resemble the classic Nosferatu much closer.
