How does the Dragonborn read the Elder Scroll in the Dawngua

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 12:37 am

I thought that if you read an Elder Scroll you either went blind (like the Ancestor Moths) or went crazy like Septimus Signus?
Spoiler
In Skyrim when you look at the Elder Scroll it just blinds you for a second and then you close it.

It says on http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Elder_Scrolls: 'Such insight into the inner fabric of reality comes at a price, however, as each new foretelling and interpretation strikes the reader with blindness for a greater period of time, while simultaneously granting them a broader view of the Scroll's contents. Ultimately, the reader, having engaged in frequent acts of prophecy, is left bereft of their vision, forever after removed of their right to read the Scrolls.'

In the Trailer the Dragonborns opens the scroll and he looks at that map of what looks like Skyrim. You can see Markath and Solitude and that river.

I guess you have to read a lot before you go blind.

He only opens the one in the trailer for a second as well, I don't see what the problem is.

Well the Gray Fox didnt get blinded from the elder scroll either when he broke the curse of the Gray Fox so its probably only a issue when you do it several times.

And about that, i believe that it is a different story for a dragonborn because he/she is blessed by Akatosh himself.

When I use the Elder Scroll for... recreational purposes, the game goes black for a while. I haven't noticed if it lasts longer and longer each time I do it though.

When you read scrolls repeatedly, you gain insight to the inner fabrics of Mundus, at the cost of sight. I think the Pension of the Ancestor Moth says that it's the third read scroll is where the blindness occurs.

Thanks.

I wasn't complaining or anything, I was just wanting to know why or how the Dragonborn could read the scroll. Turns out you can read more than I thought.
