So this new crossbow...

Any variations of it? Seeing as you only have one set shot power for a crossbow, it would be annoying to just have the same speed one. Will there be crossbows which reload faster? Crossbows that make the arrow fly quicker through the air?

Probably not. Although morrowind's crossbows were criticised (there were Two of them. Expansions added a third) bethesda aren't known to be creative as of late. Although since they are ripping everything off of monster movies there might be Some one handed/ Rappid fire crossbow crap stuff that they got from van helsing or something.

There is no information on. The functionality of the crossbows we just have to wait and see.

I expect them to function similar to how they did on Morrowind, slower firing and reloading but they are more powerful.

I hope for reduced range compared to the bow.. Like real crossbows.

As far as I've been able to gather, crossbows are governed by the 'Marksman' skill, and they also have a chance to knock-back or 'stagger' their victims.

I think it's a reasonable assumption that the Marksman tree will get a new branch of perks that increase the chance of a crossbow to stagger its target, or increase its crit chance, or stuff like that. Most of the existing Marksman perks could probably already apply to crossbows as easily as bow and arrows.
