Townsperson Roleplay Challenge

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 6:00 pm

It's been several months since Skyrim came out, and people seem to be getting bored after clocking in 300+ hours. So I came up with a Roleplay challenge that I like to call Townsperson.

How does it work?
  • Difficulty at Adept or higher.(Optional)
  • You can level up, but no perks, and you can only increase stamina.
  • You may only wear unenchanted clothes
  • You can only use daggers or fists as weapons.Grindstone use prohibited
  • You cannot smith or enchant.
  • Werewolf and Vampire Lord forms are allowed. When the perk tress for them come out, you may use them. Spells and powers unlocked soley from becoming one of these monstrosities can be used.
  • Main questline cannot be extended upon after Before the Storm.(Once again optional)
  • You cannot use anything that has been enchanted
  • Daedric artifacts are a nada
  • Side questlines are allowed, but the guilds you can join are limited to the Companions and Vampire lords, so as to unlock their beastial forms.
I know that this seems impossible, but challenge can be fun.

Dang, that does seem like a challenge. Best you'd get is an ebony dagger, if you get that far..

I once played Orc who lived in Whiterun , it was pretty fun , until I got no money and had to sleep in the streets.

You can go one more step. Limit only to exploring and trading. No guilds.

I wouldn't do all those restricytions, but I tihnk starting a character who basically stays in the towns and does as many oddjobs as possible without going outside city walls (other than to get cart travel) until they're hard enough to go outside. I might add some restrictions to that, but in my past playthroughs I've tended to do the wilderness much more than the towns and cities.

You can also remove this line too:

- Werewolf and Vampire Lord forms are allowed. When the perk trees for them come out, you may use them.

then you'll have a real challenge. :)

So ... when is it over? At what point would I know to retire this character?

Feel free to do so, but I remember werewolf and vampire lore from other games in which any average joe can be one.

They add powers and enchantments, completely contradictory to the "no enchantments" rules previously set. :)

The one I'm trying on my next play through is living off the land.

-Can't own a home
-Can only go to town for quests or sell items (Sometimes you need gold to complete a quest).
-Can only use what you find while out in the wilds
-Can't buy anything.

Powers within the beastial forms are fine, but enchanted equipment and such awarded to be used outside of the beast forms is prohibited. Powers added as a result to being a vamp lord or werewolf is fine.

Well it's your idea after all, but it's cheating; your townperson will no longer be a townperson. :)

Next time you see a random joe, just realise that he may have a secret he can expertly hide.
