Werewolf in Dawnguard?

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 11:10 pm

Hi, I'm new to these forums but have been playing The Elder Scrolls since Morrowind! I have a question about the upcoming Dawnguard DLC. My main character in Skyrim is a werewolf and I want to join the Dawnguard in the DLC. Should I cure my lycanthropy? Because I heard werewolves are going to be part of the vampire faction.

Thanks!

Well werewolves are getting their own skill tree so i wouldn't cure it just yet. We also don't know if werewolves are going to show up at all in the dawnguard dlc.

Edit: yea someone give him a fishy stick i don't know how.

OK, thanks for the ultra-quick reply! I think I'll wait for the release (or beta, hopefully!) before I cure my character. Thanks!

What i'm wondering, is if Werewolf characters can ally with the Volkihar, without curing their Lycanthropy. Instead of being awarded new vampiric powers for quests, you'd instead be awarded items, or maybe even Constant Active Effects (Like Agent of Mara, Sailors Repose, etc types).

I haven't heard anything about werewolves being a part of the vampire faction, and from what I've heard, it doesn't sound very likely that Dawnguard will be adding all that much besides the perk tree to lycanthropy hearing that werewolves are only getting a perk tree just because vampire lords are getting one, and they want to keep them balanced. Although the reasoning behind the inclusion of the perk tree could mean that werewolves are playing some kind of a role, so it is a fairly ambiguous statement. I've heard nothing on werewolves allying as werewolves with the vampires, however.

Bethesda must be, at the very least, looking at bugs for warewolves in Dawnguard as on the Beta application they ask wether your character is a warewolf or not.

Yes,
Spoiler
they are making certain that the perk tree gets tested. As said before, it's been stated that werewolves will be getting a perk tree in order to balance them out against vampire lords, and that it doesn't necessarily rule out any further involvement of lycanthropy in Dawnguard, though it does not sound like that werewolves and vampire lords will exactly be the best of friends, especially if the werewolves in question refuse to give up their lycanthropy. These werewolves would probably be promptly accused of being sided with the Dawnguard faction and attacked.

What do you mean by "sauce?" Did you mean "source?" If you want to know what the source of that information is, then look no further than this month's issue of GameInformer. It also supposedly leaked a couple days ago. :bolt:
