It probably will have a retail release. I have the Undead Nightmare DLC for Red Dead Redemption on a retail disc. I wouldn't be surprised if larger DLC gets released on retail discs still.

Pretty sure Pete Hines confirmed via Twitter that Dawnguard will be a digital release only.

This is hearsay on my part, I read it on these forums, but couldn't source it properly, maybe someone can take care of that for me?

It will probably be like with Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Online only at first, and then when all the DLCs been released there will be a Skyrim Ultimate Edition or whatever it will be called, that includes the main game and all the DLCs.

Man. I wanted to feel all special for owning a retail disc of Dawnguard. Now I can't. Oh well. I can still brag about the used copy of Undead Nightmare.

If there are no plans for an Xbox disc, then PC probably won't get one either. We'll have to wait for Ultimate/GotY/whatever Edition.

Ah, it was Gstaff, and actually on these forums.

Once again I have been undone (Partially) by the internet's rendition of the Telephone game.

If it ever gets on disc format it will likely be about a year before it's released, most likely on a GOTY edition.

So it looks like you're going to have to svck it up and tell yourself that downloading it via the Internet(legitimately) is not stealing, otherwise you'll be waiting a mighty long time, I'm afraid.

GotY doesn't really need confirming - it's always released eventually. But expansions on discs in addition to the digital version are becoming increasingly rarer, so it's understandable that people ask.

I miss hard copies. Every game I bought online I make an image of and burn on a disc. I feel... safer? It's still not the same as having a row of boxes on your shelf...

You don't need the pay version (Gold?) to buy stuff, do you? That'd be silly of MS......

Yeah, Silver is free. I bounce between gold and silver all the time, depending on what games have come out. Canceling your gold is a bit of a pain though, you have to actually call MS support (The process itself is pretty easy, but the fact that you have to do that is lame) Their reasoning is apparently lots of angry Girlfriends canceling boyfriends Gold online or in the dash, so those were removed.

But no, you don't need Xboxlive gold to buy stuff. You don't even need to submit any payment options. You can go right to a local retailer and buy the point cards, which is usually cheaper because they don't get taxed (Online purchases are taxed, you save a whopping $1.60 in California)

It's not an issue of price for me it's an issue of connection. I bought some wireless thing for my xbox and signed up for a free account but couldn't ever get my box to work.

I don't have Live either, due to the poor wi-fi connection in my area. That leaves me out on alot of game content that I look forawrd to playing. I have PSN but for some reason nothing I buy will download to my system. The only option I have to buy add-on content is to pre-order or wait for a retail disc, like I have done with RedDeadRedmenption Undead Nightmare and Dragon Age Origins Awakinging, or wait until the game comes out in one package like I have done with FO3 and I plan on buying the FONV Ultimate edition. I think that digital release only is unfair to gamers willing to pay for a hard copy of the same add-on; but I also understand the reason why some compaines do it.

If you get it on disk which I hope it does then you can download it on as many xboxs as you want without having to pay for it over and over again.
