companion hall bug (xbox 360)

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:07 am

Dear people of the forum,

recently i encoutered a game breaking bug. After completing the qeust: the whispering door, i went to the companion hall. after trying to leave the game freezes up. no matter what i tried, i can't leave without the game freezing. Is there a way to solve this, with out loading an old save?

It might just be your game.. Is it scratched? Also it might be a quest bug. List your uncompleted Quest. If not that than perhaps its AI or scripts... I have seen a lot of AI errors in the companions

Is it freezing on the load screen, or does it go part that and you get a grey screen that is blank? You can survive the grey screen.

That bug has been around for a while, before taking drastic measures try disabling all your auto-save features and exit the building.

That worked for me :3

I would just go for the surer method and load an old save game, other wise you might run into further problems later.

The friend i was talking about earlier, did reload his save game, but couldn't get in the companion hall anymore, kept freezing up though. Also i heard looked it up and it turns out that the companion hall is petty bugged in terms of AI and such. Never had problems with it, until now. i'll try the "disabling autosave" method and if it works i'll just turn my autosave of everytime i need to get in. But that friend of mine had, this problem two updates back. I hope they'll fix it in the next one.

Try disabling all your autosaves and music when you exit Jorvassker. Then go to your map and try moving to another area. From memory the cursor will be invisible in this state so you'll have to listen carefully for it when you scroll over another area such as Riverwood.Once you hear it,port out.If you get facial warping once you're out save it manually (seperate save file) then reload that save.Should correct it.

So let me get this straight,
1.i turn off my music and autosaves,
2.then ill exit jorvassker.
3.then ill go to my map and try to move. My cursor did dissapear earlier as soon, as i placed a custom marker.

you said port out, i have no idea what that meanse, also what do you mean with facial warping?

The rest i can follow, but english is my second language and i do not understand everything.

You would get better responses and fixes for these issues if you posted them in the other forum. http://www.gamesas.com/forum/181-xbox-360/

No need to apologize. You are fine. Just hit the "report" button and ask a mod to move it for you.

I haven't experienced freezing up inside the Jorrvaskr yet, but my previews character save had a little bug there with Companions.
It was more like surprizing or happy bug though.
I completed the companions quest and did some other quests and came back to Jorrvaskr just to say whats up to my circle. Then I saw Skjor returned and chilling out side the porch munching on some bread and he said "you still have to prove yourself welp" and gave me some work to do. I almost felt like I saw a ghost.

p.s. in the return for the Skjor been back, the skyforge master whats his face was missing and confirmed as dead according to the girl at the Warmaiden...

After three times of trying the autosave off and then fast traveling trick, i succeeded.

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, since i vould have lost a lot of progress.

Next time i'll place this thread under the right categorie.

Really thanks for everything and the warm welcome,

Greetings,
