Dawnguard could be worthless task?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 9:23 am

Just thinking about the DLC and well there doesn't seem to sound like there is anything worth gaining from taking part in the dawnguard quest line over the vampire one as if you choose to be a vampire you seem to get countless amounts of new powers and even the possible opportunity to block out the sun!

But... the dawnguard well from the looks of it you get a crossbow and the opportunity to kill evil creatures but no amazing new powers or weapons.

so what is there to make me want to do the dawnguard questline... anyone?

The dawnguard questline isnt empty, they just have not shown it yet.

The trailer was from the vampires point of view, wait until you see more to decide the dawnguard are worthless :)

They wouldnt add a whole new faction without anything interesting about them.

A friendly new faction of good doers (if you like that), a huge fortress (from the looks of it), and perhaps some new weapons (such as the crossbow).

I don't care about new powers or weapons, just the chance at exploring new areas and following a new storyline for my character, which Dawnguard will supply.

We already saw 3 diffrent unique Dawnguard armors, one dawnguard shiled, and one axe with and dawnguard symbol in the trailer, + crossbows, maybe also some spells which will be effective vs vampires.

Don't worry, the dawnguard will have a good story too. Bethesda is just keeping it secret so far.

Maybe we will see their point of view during E3.

Plus there are new Shouts as well, like the one they describe that allows you to tear the soul from someones body and summon them as a phantom. They said there are more as well so.. don't worry, you will get your new fangled powers :P

Would be cool if the dawnguard were a different breed of werewolf, I doubt it tho but they probably have really powerful spells and weapons for fighting vampires besides the crossbow, i'm going to side with them first I think because my main character is a 'good guy'

Ever heard of roleplaying?

Not all of us play TES to be a walking 1 shot tank god.

You couldn't even do anything to them in previous games, they added that so you could roleplay a good character. There is no dark brotherhood killing faction, just a guard in a house.

Dawnguard is an entire faction.

Yea, so many people are passing judgement before they even see anything about the dawnguard faction.

Seriously all we knowso far is they use crossbows. Wait and see if we get some more info today.

I love how people are making judgements based on small amount of information given in the trailer. How could you possibly comment on the depth of the Dawngaurd faction from the trailer?

Considering Bethesda's tremendous ability to construct awesome story line upon awesome story line I believe that Dawnguard should be nothing less of impressive. Plus additional quests could never be a bad thing.

Why would you assume everyone would want to turn all their character's into vampires? There are weaknesses along with the powers and powers aren't everything anyways.

New weapons and perk trees? New area to explore? Whether the quest for Dawnguard stinks or not, there are still plenty of things that make the DLC worth it.
