Magic in Dawnguard will fail?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 6:35 am

I already know that the destruction magic doesn't scale with level, so now with Dawnguard coming soon and you wil be able to gain higher level (more perk points).

That will be balanced out for melee with giving them new weapons, Dragon weapons.

So Mages get? Doesn't look like we get anything if they don't suddenly decide to create higher ranking within destruction with new and better spells or they suddenly go, oh. Let's make magic damage scale with level.

I don't feel that's necessarily true, Bethesda said and still proclaims magic on skyrim to be there favorite way of killing things and would love to expand it so i expect big things...

from the looks of it all and the base of the DLC i believe that mages will get a variety of new powerful spells that will be incorporated with the quest so spells that are used by the vampiric creature and some used against them and well if they don't well then they just opened a large can of worms on those who love magic.

I thought they said you gain the new perk points by feeding?... the level cap has not been raised, as far as I know...

How will you get to a higher level? all skills at 100 is level 81 so I don't see how you could get any higher.

Magick gets a few new spells.
Plus I don't think the dragon bone weapons will be any more powerfull than daedric weapons.
Of course I could be wrong though

I mean the new monsters and dragons are more dangerous and you get new weapons that is even greater weapons that you already have in the game.
But you don't get any greater spells do you? As a Mage?

Vampire abilities doesn't count as Mage spells. As you might want to join the Dawnguard.

They should bring back the ability to make our own spells.
They could make a new skill called Spell making

They could integrate it into enchanting tables by making it a new option as well as disenchant and enchant.

This would allow people to create their own spells to level up with weaponry.

They're adding 2 more perk trees.

As I understand it, they level based upon kills while in their respective forms. So they won't actually affect your total level.

Hopefully magic is tuned up in Dawnguard because I just finished my mage character, he is ready to go and join the Vampires.

nonono it will be buffed, we're going to turn them into walking time bombs so they detonate themselves when enemies are near just stear clear of the AoE blast.

Really? The impression i got is that this is Sky "no magic allowed (but we had to include or the fans would bite our heads off)" rim

I want to be able to create a giant flaming snake, like that nice guy, Voldemort does. Then I want to set it, on my wife.
She never takes her helmet off, and that makes me mad.

If they add spellcrafting, as the community has requested for a while now, I would be extremely pleased with the magic.

I read something somewhere that said they are adding 3 new spells.
I think one of them was something about summoning some kind of hound,I don't remember exactly,an armored hound or a blood hound.
I can't confirm though as I can't seem to find the source where I read this right now.
I do know we are getting a new shout, soul tear wich sounds pretty fun and powerfull.

i think the whole dawnguard DLC is just there to FORCE us to want to enjoy or even slightly like the idea of being vampires as quite frankly there being put in and ignored due to how unimaginative the whole vampire gameplay is.
