Greetings everyone. Just reposting my previous post that I released earlier. This forum is for everyones opinions on the dawnguard trailer so Read, comment, and check out the video I posted!!

So as you guys well know the dawnguard trailer has released and now everyone including me is like super-hyped about it. I mean really I was logging on to the forums page one day and I thought I was going to skip through the elder scrolls online game but when it said "dawnguard trailer" I was like Omfg!!! I could not stop...watching that crazy trailer I mean it looks so damn amazing!! The new vampires, vampire LORDS, and most of all...motherfreakin CROSSBOWS!!!! I am very much looking forward to what this dlc has to offer because its clearly going to be something BIG. Now I know that for some weird "astronomical" reason some people are not excited about it. How could they not be? I mean everything in the trailer just looks so cool I mean I thought elder scrolls dlc would be enough to get anyone excited so I hope that reading through my thoughts on the trailer maybe will change a few likable minds out there.

So I have been looking on the internet nonstop for alot of dawnguard info since that trailer came out and I came across a good video anolysis. Its 30 min long atleast so if you have the time please check out the video below and see what this gentleman has to say. He brings out some really good points that most other anolysis trailers haven't before so check it out and tell me what you think. You can read my thoughts also if you wish and if anything strikes out as interesting to you please comment.

My thoughts on the trailer. Read if you wish and discuss!

I talk here about various parts of the dawnguard trailer so feel free to skip ahead to other paragraphs if you wish. Its pretty much straightforward text for the sake of keeping the text as limited as possible so enjoy!

My thoughts on this trailer are many. For starters, it seems at the beginning you have to find the vampires first before you get into anything big. It opens up into a view of the vampiric castle now one thing I did notice in the video were the 2 gargoyle statues at the bridge. Im guessing they are statues of the winged vampire lords as was stated in the video I posted now I know there is no evidence of this but I do wonder if they could be bringing in gargoyles into the game. They are related to Dracula and Castlevania (you have to fight them at some point) but Idk I mean if you actually do get to fight stone gargoyles that would be bloody awesome.

So now it takes us to the inside of the vampire castle. The first thing I noticed was the elder scroll on that womans back whom I am assuming is that guys daughter. Im surprised that yet "another" elder scroll is being brought into the game. I know they are very very rare to find but I suppose it ties in with the plot to block out the sun. Also that guy whom I am assuming is a vampire lord has the same bright glowing eyes as the picture we saw earlier so most likely we will be seeing some new breed of vampire. Maybe the Volikhar we have all been waiting for? I can picture my character with those eyes omg he will look so badass. One thing that concerns me though is when you walk in public with those eyes. Most likely, you will be labeled a vampire so this right here is probably evidence that you can really block out the sun in the game. Not sure how but really just a hunch. Next thing I noticed was that he also had a cape so maybe we could be seeing the use of capes or cloaks in the game which is really cool. Or it could be part of his armor design like the nightingale armor but we shall see.

Now as the trailer goes on it shows you turning into a vampire lord. This is just astonishing the detail bethesda has put into this. All the redness and blood everywhere really brings out to the fact that you can indeed become a vampire lord and side with the vampires. The transformation still; you can't get over at how epic it looks!! Next we notice the vampire lord standing next to what looks like a blood fountain. Now if I am correct it looks like a depiction of Molag bal. I could be wrong but the face looks similar to him and the fountain looks similar to the fountain in the house in Markarth where you find that hidden altar with the Mace of Molag bal hanging over it.

Next it looks like vampire lords will be able to use Sonar just like bats do or batman from the movies. Because if you pause it you notice how it reveals an individual nearby with a glowing hue just like detect life so possible Sonar ability for vampire lords. Next is a nord sinking his fangs into some unlucky fool. This is what I have been waiting for finally!! You can now feed without them having to sleep. I'm hoping this gets used in conjunction with sneak attack because as you see he is not in sneak mode. He just walks up, grabs him and feeds so no sublety to be found when feeding in that fashion. Next you chance upon what looks like a giant, glowing-blue portal that apparently leads to the realm of the dead. As you venture in you notice a vampire lord flying with wings just like Marcus from Underworld. Looks really well done and beautiful so either possible gliding on the ground or flying in the air.

Next we see the dawnguard (the pathetic vampire hunters whom I will enjoy slaying!!). The castle though looks really cool; it looks like its built to house many archers and too withstand attacks from many enemies so I look forward to exploring that. If you look on the inside of it you will see their flag next to the fireplace which I am assuming is their symbol. The hallway looks like it takes a while to get to the otherside so probably the dawnguard will have really big cities to explore. Next up, you see....CROSSBOWS!!! Gods Im so glad they're bringing crossbows back! It looks fantastic too and I love the way you reload. I was honestly expecting the loading to be alot slower because crossbows in rl do take a while to reload but provide a great impact.

As the trailer continues this vampire lord pops out of the wall. If you notice a few differences he clearly looks alot fiercier than the previous vampire lord. He has actuall wings because you notice he has some flesh right below the wingy part or below the bony part whatever. Also he looks alot muscular so maybe as you progress through the quest you will be able to see your vampire lord appearance get stronger. Probably through the ability of eating souls in the realm of the dead. Next, you notice that big ice giant. If you played Bloodmoon it looks remarkably similar too Karstaag. But still it wields the same club as a giant and wears clothing like one so maybe these are actual ice giants. Who knows but maybe we will actually be returning to Solsthiem. Thats just theory in speculation but it is a possibility.

Next it looks like vampires will be able to turn into bats which is pretty interesting. I dont know if thats an ability we will be getting as vampire lords but if we do I'm curious as to how it will be implemented in gameplay. As the trailer continues it shows a vampire lord using what looks like his version of absorb health. You use a telekinetic ability that literally picks up the guy and possibly absorbs his health judging by the way he glows red. Next up it looks like you get access to cooler mounts!! Sorry Shadowmere but it looks like your time has come. Your riding what looks like an undead horse covered in blue flame which looks really cool so access to new and improved mounts is confirmed!! Next which is very curious...a dragon crashing into a frozen lake. Now this could be part of a boss fight or something but as I recall the Volikihar live in the ice so maybe this is how you gain access to their realm possibly.

After that you see what clearly looks like a map of the entire dlc. Mainly because if you pause and study it you see what looks like mountains and a river in the middle. And the 2 symbols most likely are where the dawnguard and vampires are located so possibly a similar Civil war questline may be had here. Lastly, you see Dovakiin walking up to what looks like dragons reach except that it looks ruined in this video. So maybe you destroy dragons reach? Also you see the sun turning red and covering Skyrim in this large and dark cloud of abyss. Very interesting, so it looks like you literally will be able to clog up the sun after all and allow vampires to roam free. I still dont believe it because usually in these kind of stories you end up killing the "bad guy" that you decided to help in the first place. And he tries to kill you because you had served your purpose in serving him but we just have to wait and see until the dlc comes out.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed my thoughts on the dawnguard trailer. Please comment and tell me what you think!! For the vampires!!

I wonder...the returning daughter part, could that be related to...maybe Babette? The girl vampire in the dark brotherhood questline? Could of course be some random new vampy girl we haven't met yet. I don't think that the girl with the elder scroll strapped to her back, is the "daughter"

I also saw someone posted about Meridas shrine near Solitude, and the haunted shack in Markarth been connected, seems the best bit of guess work yet, why else would Solitude and Markarth be highlighted in such a fashion.

Also there must be some super awesome abilities linked with the Dawnguard...otherwise why else would you bother? Hmm I'm pretty sure as a vamp lord, you'll be able to pick up a crossbow/axe/armour .. so there must be something unique and awesome about The Dawnguard vamp hunters...also the dude on the skanky fire horse has a crossbow... so unless thats a dawnguard dude which I doubt, as a vampire on a spooky horse seems to fit the bill/style more.

I have also been wondering how they will work the vampire stages in Dawnguard... never really enjoyed the whole getting stronger the longer you're without blood thing....I hope they reverse it.
And the invisibility thing... its really quite rubbish isn't it? Honestly I can make potions that last 120+ seconds...but they still seem useless because as soon as you do anything worthy of note, BAM it turns off...and everyone can see you. I always found this rather lame, some would say you'd be too powerful if you could pick locks etc...I think those people should be destroyed.

Did anyone else touch on the moths flying about, in the trailer when the elder scroll is opened? Those moth priests, do they have any vampire connections? or is it purely to do with the fact that they can read Elder scrolls? I didn't play oblivion, so my knowledge on those guys is limited at best.

I saw someone said "ohh the giant dudes are in oblivion blah blah blah" after sitting in my personal library in windhelm last night, and reading immortal blood, it points out that some vampires can swallow a man whole. That giant had massive pointy teeth! Food for thought.

In other news, Shadowmere is DEAD. She has been for almost half my adventure, she fell off some waterfall, and I've tried waiting 30 days...and going back..cant find her :( And I'm not interested in Frost. Any ideas? (I'm on PS3 so no PC commands please)

I doubt it about Bobette. She is the master alchemist in the game and returning her could result in losing her from the brotherhood. Also, she doesn't have the glowing eyes of a Volikahar so most likely someone else gets the role of daughter. I heard it mention somewhere that vampire lords will only be able to use spells. I think on the video I posted Ill have to check later but yeah I think lords can use spells only. Moth priests after all this time could have been raided by vampires and all turned into vampires perhaps but I also doubt that since the dominant diminutive flying creature in the dlc is the bats of course.

So sorry about Shadowmere though. My Shadowmere has been missing for a good while now though and havent heard from her since so hopefully this new horse mount will prove a reliable mount that has immortality this time.

After the new gameinformer info, rewatching the trailer twenty more times and remebering how vague the elder scrolls are on the surface it might turn out that Harkon might be a bro and the dawn guard might not be guarding the dawn they think they thunk they though.

Everything gets complicated when elder scrolls are involved.

I find something extremely interesting about the statues we see at the beginning. Looking at the different more savage vampire creature we see breakout later on it seems to me he is not breaking though the wall but rising from a sitting position. What I think this could mean is that a lesser more feral version may serve the vampire lords. These creatures may be those who were not strong enough to control the new vampiric strain and became feral, something similar to how aela described feral werewolfs. The main difference here however is that I'm assuming the greater vampires have control over them since vampires have control over vampires they created. The reason their in stone is most likely since their I assuming their more animalistic. The stone serves as a cage to keep them out of trouble until they are needed. This is of course just some speculation after watching the trailer. Edit- just read something in another thread that says their gargoyles, which makes more sense.

All I want is Dawnguard now. Reasons:

1. Crossbows! My favorite weapon from Morrowind, and real life. Can't wait to obliterate enemies with them!
2. Helping the Dawnguard is gonna be fun! I wanna see how my boss Argonian will defeat a gargoyle.
3. Dragons flying into the water? If they do that, Dev'd Vastern will surely jump in and kill it in style!
4. Dragonbone weapons. Not a big fan of Dragon Armor, since I'm daedra and ebony all the way. Unless a fully upgraded Dragon Bow exceeds 130 dmg, I won''t use it.
5. A whole new world! Skyrim, with all of its similar-looking snowy landscape, is rather predictable in terms of terrain. A new place full of secrets, now that just makes me :3
6. New enemies. Man, I was slightly getting tired of fighting mammoths and bandits just for fun, but with my crossbow, the world better watch out.
7. An entirely new questline! Sounds fun, can't wait to whip the Vampires outta Tamriel.
8. The fact that Bethesda has given us details, the storyline, and the confirmation of the DLC! Thanks for everything Bethesda! :D

Bethesda is making a new mmo where the game will center on Molag Bal trying to takeover Tamriel. I beleive this expansion is leading into that story. Molag Bal is, according to the Lore, the Patron Daedra of all vampires. I saw in the Trailer, what looked like a portal to His Realm in Oblivion, ColdHarbour. If his Followers are after Elder scrolls, its probably to bring about a dragon break, in some kind of scheme to block out the sun, Allowing vampires free reign.

Elder scrolls online takes place 1000 years in the past at the time Molag bal tried to take over Tamriel. Good theory but its not the case.
