Vampire, Dieases, and You

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 2:47 am

I made a battlemage Dark Elf and thought why not make him a vampire, seeing how the Dark Elf voids the vampire weakness to fire. However, I got a diease with the vampire diease meaning if I cured one it would cure both. So I became a vampire and cured it, and so far so good right? A little later I get mindrot out of no where (have my hud off, so I can't tell) though I'm a vampire.

Did you check your active effects? Sometimes when playing as a Vampire, you may get a message saying you've contracted a disease, but if you check the active effects page, it won't actually be affecting your character. The active effects list can be found from the main Magic menu.

Sometimes the disease resists can be a little buggy. It doesn't affect you THAT badly though, does it? And I'm sure if it is there it'll go eventually with plenty of potions.

Like I said I had my hud off, so I never saw the diease notifcation. However, when I looked at my skills I noticed that my magika was lowered. So after going to active effects I noticed that I had mind (brain?) rot.

Sounds like you glitched your accout when you became a vampire with another disease, Worry not, When the new dlc comes out you get a new vampire form that might fix your problem.

You would think becoming a vampire would cure the diease you had before becoming one.

Vampires get 100% resist disease and 100% resist poison.

That being said, I somehow contracted rockjoint, on my full vampire. I just hit a shrine of Talos an it fixed it right up. Don't know how it broke through the 100% though.

Did you have a diease while you had the vampire diease (I refuse to type it out at almost four in the morning)?

I would suggest trying a shrine or a potion, maybe even curing the vampirism and re-acquiring it.

Well this was my first diease after becoming a vampire, so I'll cure it and wait to see if I get anymore dieases.
