Simple, and somewhat cheap solution to weak werewolves.

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 1:24 pm

I don't know why I never thought of this before and I know a lot of people will say its cheap but lowering the difficulty (to whatever you feel necessary) prior to becoming a werewolf would surely help the problem with doing limited damage and dying easy at high levels. I know this issue is being addressed in Dawnguard but it seems like I would have thought of this earlier. Perhaps some of you have already thought of this and maybe even do it, who knows?

I don't see how this fits into that sub-forum. Perhaps it does, but technically its not a cheat or a spoiler. Unless werewolves are still spoilers like they were at release day.

But you're helping them (i.e. giving Hints) on building a better man-wolf killing machine. That in itself makes it necessary to post in the Cheats, Hints, and Spoilers sub-Forum that I linked to above.

I'm pretty sure most people are aware of the fact that they can change difficulty at any given time. Not everyone wants to, however.

It's the rules of the Forums, bro. That's just how it works.

Right. I know most people know. And I've known since I started playing the game. But like many on here that like to play as a werewolf I quickly noticed that they become weak and defenseless at higher levels. If you bumped the difficulty down to the lowest setting prior to becoming a werewolf, even at level 60, I'm going to guess you're going to be wreaking havoc on everyone and everything. I could be wrong.

What I'm saying is bump the difficulty down, turn into a werewolf, after you're out of your beast form but the difficulty back up. I know its a bit inconvenient but I'm guessing that it would fix the issue.

Easy. Its really not that big of a deal. I won't be the least bit offended if the post gets moved. Lets just keep things civil.

*But for the record, I think when they moderators are referring to giving someone a hint, they are talking about a quest.

I'm just surprised this has never been brought up before and that I've never thought of it before. Its really an instant fix. Kind of lame, but it takes care of the problem.

It's kind of a no-brainer. It doesn't take much to figure out you can change the difficulty.

Instead of changing the difficulty.. you could NOT attack hordes of enemies assuming you're unbeatable. Use the howl, run around enemies and attack with ONE swipe here, one there... and attack the one's that run away or are singled out.

Use the dual wield trick, I have two of the same type of dagger both smithed up and after I start to transform press X or whatever button you use to sheathe/unsheathe your weapon. That adds the damage of the daggers to your claws making enemies a piece of cake depending on how high you smith the weapons. I wish I knew how to reproduce my armor glitch so I could share

If you're on PC you can use mods. If you're on consoles, however, then stuff like difficulty-lowering or strategic use of certain howls to help even the odds would be necessary. The use of certain spells prior to transforming is also a viable strategy, though I forget what spells people said were useful for buffing the beast form. It might have been spells like Oakflesh, Stoneflesh, and stuff like that.
