Some beautiful "hidden" places with secrets to uncov

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 4:45 pm

Hello there Skyrim people:)

Though i'd just post some pictures from a couple of places i just discovered two days ago
in Skyrim. Been playing now for over 200 hours and the little gems that are hidden in this game
still amazes me!

First pictures is from the Riverside Shack that i just stumbled into when i was
running like crazy down a hillside away from an angry elder dragon. You are
in for some nice suprises when you explore this shack with a closer look.

Second picture is from a destoyed little shack that have a secret worth giving a closer look. The place is not far from the
Abondoned Prison (which is also is worth exploring since it has a nice, but sad story to it) in the river between Whiterun and Windhelm.

Next picture is a bit further up the river and is well worth exploring for a number of reasons, but i'm only going to mention one, and that is
the "Friar Tuck" log you can see in the picture:)

Last picture has an interesting story and a terrible secret to it.

Have fun exploring m8's! Hope you find this places as interesting as i did:)

There some truly outstanding forests in caves in Skyrim. The views from hill tops are equally beautiful.

Yeah, it can really be breathtaking and sometimes even funny: like the time
i stood a bit to close to a waterfall and fell. Thought i would die from the nasty drop,
but i survived and what to you know: a music playing ghost greeted me out of nowhere

I've been to the first two shacks. Then just last night I found the tree bridge! I'm standing at the top right now but will take a swim before I leave.

The last one I may have seen but didn't investigate.

I LOVE that tree bridge. I've happened upon it many times and there is usually a bandit on it which allows for some rag doll hilarity.

I love the log. I am always expecting Kong to come running up when I am standing on it.

Did you mean http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/subrosa_florens/Skyrim/Skyrim231.jpg It is on the tundra. Unless there is another one.

I love all the small unmarked camps that can be found anywhere from at the top of icy mountains to by the cozy, frendly river, and they always have some story to tell. Often you can find bodies or journals that tell you what happened, and even more interestingly you can have smaller, unofficial and unmarked investigations. I didn't really start paying attention to these things before I had played through a few times, and it just added so much more to the experience, because know I'd know why that dead body was there that I had seen so many times before. When I was not looking for clues these things seemed like seperate events, but now I could follow their path and story and get even more out of the game. It should be applauded for that.

A while ago I swam through all the rivers (in search of ingrediences) and discovered many "hidden locations". Including a boat full of jewels and a dead Vigilant of Stendarr stuck under a bridge I had walked across so many times. If you follow the river from Witherun to Windhelm for example I think you pass through at least four (if we include the Abandoned Prison) "fatal" and mysterious location on the river from Whiterun to Windhelm. And there are such locations along all the rivers. I think the boat filled with jewels was on the river from Bard's Leap Summit, probably closer to Markath.

Then you are in for a treat. Follow the river down from Whiterun
and you will find this gem:)

Did a shout and watched him disappear into the angry waterfall:)

Lets not forget other fun places - like the HUGE treasure that you get after you deal with "the hand" in the basemant of the Winterhold Mage Guild. That was quite the site.
Then there is the Star Wars cave with all the Ice Trolls and the corner with the guy frozen by his legs in the ceiling.
Not to mention the Dragon Bridge or the view you get when "a god" lifts you up above the clouds. What a site that was (just dont move much when she sets you down - or she drops you and SLAT", then there's the mad hatter Tea party or meeting Notcurnal for the first time - IN PERSON.

I've been playing for the last six months and honestly I'm LOOKING for something I havent seen yet. Finally found something I missed last night - the 9th mask.
Fun times and wonderful visuals

I like Lover's tent north of Dawnstar. The best part is, I found it when my character was out honeymooning with her husband ;)

Walking the shore from Dawnstar to Winterhold is quite interesting, btw, there are a few things to discover there.

That one makes me feel sad. There is no sign of them. I wonder if something came along and ate them, like a giant mudcrab. :(

Yeah, The Lover's Tent was quite tragic.

HOWEVER

I got a new favorite location in Skyrim: The Hunter Jacuzzi Camp!

I'm playing on PS3, but here's a pic I found on the net (warning it might spoil the awesomeness, though there is more): http://images.wikia.com/elderscrolls/images/9/9b/Hunter_Jacuzzi_Camp.jpg

Just walk from the Eldergleam Sanctuary towards Fort Amol, look for small tents, they should be pretty easy to find. Can't believe I've never found it before.

Inside of http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Bleakcoast_Cave (Eastern Winterhold) there is a skeleton hanging upside down from the ceiling. Below the skeleton is a glowing sword. This makes reference to http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars_Episode_V%3A_The_Empire_Strikes_Back when http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Luke_Skywalker was caught on http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Hoth and hung from the cavern ceiling. The sword below representing his http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Lightsaber.

Anyone found the hidden book under some crates FAR far south in the falkreath hold? It's right near the invisible wall.
