Please Stop! I yield!

*Gets up 10 seconds later and starts attacking*

Seriously, wut?

Also, why do bandits, the ultimate opportunists, attack my daedric - clad spellsword, bodyguard and wardog with 2 thralls head - on?
It just makes no sense. They should attempt to ambush you at the very least, if not leave you alone altogether, unless you corner them.

Bandits use cunning and deception to gain the upper hand. They want you to lower your guard so they can get another strike at you. For bandits, that doesn't surprise me. But when other NPCs do it (Guards, townsfolk), it is a bit odd.

There was a post about the yeild and as someone said it does work if you sheath your sword weapon etc. It really doesn't work as there's enemies around you for the most part.

but it does work.

But why try again after I've just wiped out their entire camp without a scratch, and they are on next to no health?

Well, also remember, it's a game. :P Not real life where people use logic and environmental cues to generate thoughts and decisions.

I've never ever had it work except when I initiated the combat and the character is inherently a non-combatant.

I wish I could figure out the difference, but if I had a buck for every time I sheathed my sword only to get beaned ten seconds later, I'd be at a restaurant right now.

I've had bandits and forsworns running away after yielding, if I've sheathed my weapon.

Maybe it has to do with their level vs. yours? Just a guess.

Eh, not half as bad as a bandit camp attacking my Khajiit, with my Khajiit body guard, in front of a Khajiit caravan on their way to Dawnstar that I'd just finished trading with. Them boys had more [censored] than they knew what to do with.

Yeah I hate that too - tried rolling a mercifull type of character that wouldn't kill people if they yeild, but they just got back up and tried to kill me again

They say they yield with their weapon drawn, but you have to sheathe yours to accept it. What kind of nonsense is that?

Not to mention it makes no sense. That bandit just tried to tear your spine out your kneecap, and you put your sword away because....?

It seems to work randomly for me. I'll actually yield every now and then if I hear them say this. Some times they'll get back up and come back at me, other times they'll say "I'll let it go..this time" after I sheath my weapon which leaves me thinking "wait..what?"

I saved a naked guy from a cave full hagravens. After dispatching the 3 monsters with my heavy armor and two handed mace, I set the naked guy free, who then decided to try robbing me with his iron dagger. It didn't end well for him.
