Quick question for you all about armor looks.

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 6:20 pm

As ive played through the game many times i began to feel more and more unsatisfied with the light armors in game. Sure Fur and scaled look nice but when compared to Ebony and Daedric, they are far outclassed in looks. Glass and Dragonscale just look kinda odd like they dont belong with the other armors that, while they look fantasy like they dont look goofy or over the top like Glass or Dragonscale. With the upcoming Exspansion am i the only one who would like some nicer looking light armor?

I'd love that as well, although I do enjoy my Nightingale armor very much.

That armour Harkon is wearing in the trailer looks rather sixy, and it appears to be light. Oh and it has a cape

I've only played one light armor character, and when I did, I hated everything I wore until I got to Dragonscale. I actually like the Dragonscale, but then I have it retexed (and the plate as well) because I hate hate HATE the original colors. I was also partial to the Nightingale armor, but that's not attainable unless you want to do the associated quest.

A nicer looking selection would be cool IMO, OTOH I don't know that I'd play light armor again just because of that. It's not suitable for the kind of characters I enjoy playing... it gets them killed too much.

All of the theives armour is very good. I wear Guild Leader armor with Linwe's Hood for looks. It is light, realistic looking and has very good DamageResistance. Linwe's armor is also very good. It looks cool too, being slevless.

I really don't wear armor or try to anyway. I mostly use clothes but if i have to wear armor its either the forsworn armor, fur armor, Nightingale armor, and scaled dragon armor. For heavy its either the wolf armor or ancient nord armor. But i mostly prefer light armor if i need it

At least some of the unique armors look good. DB and Thief Guild Master look sweet but can be a bit annoying to get. I really hope we get some more though, even those two sets are kinda disappointing.

Indeed.

I would like to see more Light Armor that looks practical but flashy too, like Harkon's and the Mithril armor from Oblivion.

But I absolutely love the Scaled armor, Studded Armor and Elven Armor from Skyrim.

I like my weapons and armour to look as realistic as they can and still be cool. I saw a suit of armour in the Dawnguard trailer that looked nice. It reminded me of the scale armour from Dragon Age Origins http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Wade%27s_Superior_Dragonskin_Armor_Set

I quite liked Light Armors; Dark Brotherhood, Thieve's Guild, Nightingale, Saviour's Hide just to name a few. Never really touched Glass aside from the shield.
I dunno, it's fine to me, I just preferred the others. Anyway it's no Morrowind Glass :nerd:
Hopefully, and by the looks of the trailer, we'll be seeing new sets in Dawnguard. Fingers crossed for tons of variety.

I have to admit I'd like to see a sharp increase in the number of cosmetically different armor and weapon types in the game. Not because of any dissatisfaction with the current types, though; I think pretty much all of them look great.

Geralt has such style, pretty much every armor set in that game looked good. If I had to classify, it would surely be suited to the Light Armor tree in Skyrim.

I really enjoyed the Gilded Elven armor because it is stylish and functional. I would like to see chain mail armor for the light armor tree to be honest, its lack of appearance disturbs me

Although I do mainly play using heavy armour I've gotta agree, the light armour in Skyrim could look a little nicer... Here's hoping Dawnguard delivers. :P
