Archery build?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 12:39 pm

Okay so I want to make an archery build but I can't think of what other skills I should use in case something happens and my bows stop doing damage. Also I was wanting to know what perks I should take that aren't OP just helpful.

Race:Bosmer

Primary skills
Archery
Restoration
Enchanting

Secondary skills
Stealth
Light Armor
Smithing (just used to make different armor sets.)

Skills I wont use
Alchemy

I really wanted restoration to be my only school of magic but i still need a way to fend on enemies while healing.
I am thinking 1-handed, I also want to be a werewolf.

im assuming your being more of a combat archer? perhaps shoot a few in sneak at range then stand up and bank on knock back to take them on? If so its the same as my main character, its pretty effective if not a little OP, im level 56 now and I can dispatch most threats with little effort.
I took all perks on the left side of the archery tree, and light armor was pretty usefull though enemies rarely get to you after you get the knockback perk

But don't forget when your in a close quarters area, its required to mix up tactics slightly, being quick on your feet usually does it.

you should have enough, with the skill trees you have listed there, to also throw a few in one-handed combat, specifically the dual wielding side. that would at least give you the option to also boost dual weilding some daggers or swords, or something like that... I have a Thief/Assassin, who is primarily an archer, but I've put a few points in one-handed and it's paid off, because it can be hard to avoid at times obviously.

I don't think I've spent more than 3 or 4 in One-Handed, but it helps a lot, especially when you find yourself surrounded by two bears and a frost troll...

You should probably have one handed unless you want to duel wield restoration.

With quick shot, and power shot he won't need one handed.

I just went with the Elf for some role playing and got it up to 100 and I have all the perks..gotta say with a legendary bow and sneak 3x damage with the sneak tree and some decent arrows you can rip through just about anything.

I've used nothing but a bow since I got the longbow in Helgen on my Woody. With qs and a hunting bow at legendary it's insane how fast I can nock an arrow and loose it. I doubt you'll need one-handed at all. I don't use any archery enchants either and I can still mow enemies down, I do have smithing in the 80's though still making ebony pieces to lvl it so not at 100 yet, my hunting bow is legendary because I looted/bought smithing boost equipment.

My build is:

Archery
Light Armor
illusion(Invis and Muffle only)
Sneak
Enchanting
Smithing

I use 3 bows usually, Lightining, Frost, Flame... If one won't get bonus damage from weakness then one of the others will. Hunting animals for the soul siphon is most useful too, only ones you can take down with one arrow though otherwise you lose more charge then you get back.
