Dawnstar (RP) Which side would you're character choose?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 10:23 am

Hi all,

Im playing mostly an Argonian of Khajit character.
I also always join the thieves guild or the dark brotherhood.

But now going true a gameplay with my Argonian assasin, i really don't know which side i should choose.
I like my fellow db companions, but i don't find it very "right" that my argonian could transform in a vampire, cause he is a beast race.

Same thing for the Khajit, I don't see how i could be an advantage for any of these beast races to join the vampires.
I don't even see why i should join the hunters .

(From a roleplaying point of vieuw).

Dawnguard

Okay, but what would be the reason to join them?

Dawnguard, none of my current characters are suited to become a vampire.

Wait, what's not "right" about the beast races having the ability to turn into a vampire?

To answer the question though, my [censored] Altmer beguiler will probably side with the vampires, & so will my Breton assassin.
The Nord archer/alchemist will likely do Dawnguard.

It's not tright in my opinion, because you don't see any changes to a beast race that is a vamp.
Humans start to get paler .
A beast race don't get facial changes...

The beast races do get physical changes. Arguably more extreme than the elves, & men.

Argonian's scales turn dusky & grey, their pupils get brighter, & they grow four very pronounced fangs/
Khajiit, have their fur take on a more whitish tint, their eyes turn a lighter color, & they grow saber-teeth.

Beast races have the most obvious physical changes.

I've a bunch of characters, depending on how things go.
I've a Khajiit thief who tends to fall on the darker side of things.
An Altmer who enjoys power and the likes - totally not stereotypical -.
Then there's the mad little Bosmer who's a crack shot with a bow, but also tends to be on the darker side of things.

So, not entirely sure how I'll choose my side of things. Hell, even my 'good' character's taken to Wolfying the country side and eating all the wee farmers...

The Argonians make really good vampires actually, Histskin (their racial power) becomes a lot more helpful when you can't regenerate health naturally.

dawnguard, my nordic warrior wants immortality but through other means as he wants to follow in talos footsteps and eventually surpass him since the dragonborn and talos are both of the dragonblood they are in a way "brothers" so you could call this a sibling rivalry and a show of respect

Alternatively, if your vampire has some skill in restoration, playing as an Altmer is possible. Using the Highborn power will cause your magicka to regenerate, which you can use for both healing and offensive magic.

Speaking from experience, since one of my characters is an Altmer vampire. To be honest, I don't notice a huge amount of advantages to being a vampire in the vanilla game, and I was going to cure her up until the point when I heard about the vampire lord in Dawnguard. So, basically, she's going to join the Vampires and end the tyranny of the sun, as they put it, because taking the "evil" road is always more fun. ^^

My primary character is my Imperial paladin. Heavy armour, one handed, block and restoration. He's a fairly old character, and was always one to hunt the undead. The Dawnguard is perfect for him. Sure, I don't think I'll give him a crossbow, since that's not suiting to his play style, but I'm sure a sharp blade will work just as well.

And of course I plan on making a third character. Argonian probably. Sure, he's not going to join either side of the war, but he'll know how to fire a crossbow better than any of them.

Oh yeah, I agree my main character's an Altmer Vampire, I just made mention of Histskin since he was talking about Argonians.
And I agree, in the base game the cons of vampirism out-weigh the pros, UNLESS you take Necromage. Which basically magnifies, any & all benificial effects applied to your character through magic, as they're tagged undead.

All the characters I've played and liked so far would be Dawnguard, I'm probably going to make a new one specifically for the Vamp side.
