New Character some advice

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:12 am

I decided to make a new wood elf character because my other one is level 81 and I dont like his perks anymore. So on this playthrough I am not sure what to use. I plan to be an archer and agile. I kind of want to get into conjuration. Is it worth it? Is Restoration worth it too? I used illusion on my last playthrough and it was kind of boring. I also plan to not use smithing because I can just find daedric or glass if needed too.

Go light armor, instead of restoration use illusion. Illusion plus conjuration and sneak is my current character. And I gotta say it's the most fun I've had with skyrim. Although I don't use a bow. I'm a pure mage.

Dont forget to invest a lot into archery for our new crossbow addition coming soon!

Oh sorry I didnt see the part about you not liking illusion. Maybe try a necromancer. When you sneak kill your enemies with your bow, revive them and have them fight with you. That and atronachs :)

Spells dont integrate very well with bows...The case would be different if we were discussing oblivion...

Yea but I figured I could conjur a bow and use that. I am also a vampire as always lol. Should I use conjuration though? Is it a fun play through or does it get boring?

I love...I mean LOVE conjuration! It's so fun. Like I said most fun I've had in skyrim thus far. Just do it

Well, in my opinion, magic in skyrim isnt very useful compared to all the other skills. Its just so clumsy and cumbersome, not enough possibilites. Oblivion blended weapons and magic so seamlessly and flawlessly, it was so fluid and natural feeling. I have difficulty understanding why a game that game out 5 years later (skyrim) feels like it came out 5 years before. Conjuration can be nice. You just have to think, do you want all the action, or do you want some of the burden on your summon? if you dont have a lot of health conjuation is helpful.

conjuration and the good ole bound bow is a great way to go, especially if you don't plan on a smithing focus

I'm enjoying my woodelf archer, it's difficult to get in spells. I do like getting alchemy in there for the poisons though.

illusion and alteration. Telekinesis is very helpful in some cases plus if your agile and sneaky when s*** hits the fan you can use flesh spells.
