How will TESVI reconcile Skyrim's two possible fates?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 3:55 pm

In the game you can join the imperials and keep the empire unified or the Stormcloaks and have Skyrim leave the empire. how do you think TESVI will reconcile this in the lore? Another dragonbreak like in Daggerfall? Or something different?

Perhaps that could work.

Either Skyrim secedes but Independent Skyrim decides to work like part of the Empire in an alliance
or
The Empire wins but it decides to allow Skyrim to Secede.

More likely it's going to be forced one way or the other.

Either the Empire re-takes Skyrim at a later date, or a second rebellion takes place, and succeeds where the first didn't.

most likely the conflict goes on back and forth after Skyrim's end...leaves many possibilities for TESVI

I'm going to guess that after a series of events both paths convege into the same history, and due to the same events most records of what had occured were lost or destroyed. Could be a number of things that could do this like a second great war, or something else.

It only has two outcomes:

Heads: Empire wins
Tails: Stormcloaks lose

Stormcloaks win initially like in the game, reinforcements come in, Empire wins, Ulfric and Tullius is killed but history is unsure of when, where, and how they were defeated.

What i want to know is how will TESVI reconcile the two possible Dark Brotherhood endings.

It seems highly uncanonical that Ulfric would win. This would cause the Empire to be extremely weak, and an immediate attack by the Thalmor would likely. Unless it's in the cards for the Empire to fall, but that seems unlikely. Very.

Even if you destroy the Dark brotherhood the jester guy, the vampire girl, and the night mother don't get killed. There could still be a dark brotherhood if they are still alive.

I would rather see the return of the morag tong anyway.

The Thalmor sweep up the remains, no matter who wins.

Could make for a cool TES6 in Summerset if the 'empire' is now all Thalmor controlled...

My hopes are with dlc that deepens that entire questline, extending it past the current ending where the Thalmor make a move towards the winning sides leaders under the disguise of the lossing faction. The leader survives at first, and you charge with them against the Thalmor only to die at the hands of some named Thalmor leader. After one boss fight, you're left with a Thalmor free Skyrim and one hold that needs a leader with a Tamriel that is all but on the verge of full scale war once again.

My money is on it being addressed in a book.

The DB ending is an easy fix. Officals claim it was pirates. Botherhoods been on the down turn, so it was unlikely, but it happened all the same. As long as they make it happen, both can easily be cannon.

There is that 0.01% chance that bethesda desires a full about turn from their current story :D
