By now everybody should have noticed that a lot of NPCs that have no quest significance are essential, like the commanders at the Imperial/Stormcloak camps or the guy at the Whiterun tavern that complains about the guards in the city...In recent interviews about Dawnguard devs have stated that aside from the MQ they are going to intergrate lots of side quests in the game, with many of them being irrelevant with Dawnguards plot. Do you guys believe that these quests will actually be cut content that didnt make it into the game due to time constraints? (11-11-11 )
I think that sounds resonable. It did confuse me as to why I couldn't kill the commanders, and I always thought that if the man in the tavern was going to continue to complain he should do something about it haha. But that is probably what they are doing. While I'm dissapointed that it took so long to get some real DLC from Beth, my spirits are raised again knowing that this new questline isn't all that is being added.

Well they did have a good break after the release; they haven't been working on the DLC since Skyrim hit the shelves, so really it hasn't taken them all that long. Just these last few days will pass very slowly.
Well, pretty much everyone is saying that Dawnguard is a traditional expansion pack, adding more than just one main quest. I'd say its adding probably about as much as the Shivering Isles did, maybe more.
Maybe one of the side quests is to do with the falmer.
I am pretty sure there are some falmer side quests or maybe a twist in the main plot including them. The way Todd Howard avoided the subject as if it was plague at E3.

Well we now the Snow elf prince is in somewhere as he was in the code added with 1.6 so the falmer will definitely play a role.
seriously. i feel like the slaughter is incomlete knowing they arent dead.
Exactly! I'll raid a camp and be like "YOU'RE ALL DEAD!" and then leaving the camp with the general pissed off but not dead... I even kill the sick and wounded...
