A good Idea about dungeons

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 3:49 am

Hey I have a request to ask to Bethesda, can you make the dungeon difficulty (?? - 81) ??
I mean: for example lets put bleak falls barrow, its difficulty is somewhat 1-15 I think, so there only spawns draugr and draugr wights, but when you reach level 20, the dungeon becomes a joke. I think it is sad that a dungeon that haves to take bethesda very much time to make it and it is just worth to visit under level 20.
It would be better with this settings: for example again with bleak falls barrow, it is 1 - 81 so if you revisit the dungeon at level 40, there are now a better class of draugr and a stronger draugr boss, in that case there would be Draugr Scourge and Draugr Deathlord as normal enemies and for the boss would be a Draugr Death Overlord. That would make me want to revisit it on level 30 or 40 to level in it.

The dungeons don't become obsolete or a joke after some reach level.
What do you think?

The kind of level scaling your talking about is very close to Oblivion's. The fact that dungeons now stay at a certain difficulty level was a consious change made by Bethesda because a lot of players disliked that everything was always as strong as you and you never felt like you were becoming stronger.

most of the dungeons i go into, at level 71, have deathlords all over the place.

Where as before is was weak drauger. I thought they upgraded the drauger, the higher you level'd???

Weak dungeons are part of the game. You need to go somewhere to train all of your low stats. If you are a warrior character, but feel like training your level 20 archery, where are you going to go train? If every dungeon is level 70 because you are level 70, your archery is never going to be trained because its never going to be strong enough to kill those level 70 enemies.

A good idea? That's subjective.

Level scaling like that in Oblivion has no place in Skyrim. Not only because the fans wanted it, but because it makes no sense. Yes, in Oblivion it did to a point, but in Skyrim you're the Dragonborn, a Legend. You wouldn't feel very legendary if you never felt like you got stronger.

Most of the time I revisit a dungeon Im treated to a whole host of high level enemies.

The problem here might be that bleak falls barrow is the first dungeon you are expected to go in, they probably didn't think you'd ever go back.

About the level resemblance to oblivion, my point is that for example in a drugr's dungeon the most powerful enemy you would encounter is a Draugr Deathlord and he is level 30. That was my point of course if you come back at level 70 the Draugr Deathlord would be a joke, BUT like in bleak falls barrow the strongest enemy is a draugr wight of level 13 :P
Anyway, so: if you revisit a cleared dungeon when it respawned new enemies (in 30 days) there would be better classes of enemies? For example from bandits there would be now bandit thugs (according with your current level of course) ???

all dungeons scale with the lvl you enter them the first time. so basically, if you enter all dungeons in the low lvl areas, most of them do not evolve much more.
