NPC item regeneration

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 4:29 am

Does anyone know if NPCs will regenerate their items over time? I am playing a thief and have been stealing anything I can get my hands on from NPCs in Whiterun. Will their rings, shields, weapons, and such ever regenerate?

The food stall in Whiterun never seemed to replenish the tomatoes and such, even after 2 in game years passed... So idk.

eventually the area may reload mening all the items/chests get reset and in some cases the hostile npcs , but im not sure if it is the same with towns as with dungeons ect... seems they do. This is on the 360 version.

I'm playing the 360 as well. I do plan on pickpocketting bandits and such, but I've noticed how nice most NPC's items are in Whiterun (everyone seems like they have an enchanted ring :P)

I don't think they respawn. Those poor dumb fools are unable to engage in transactions.

And the idiot at the vegetable stall never grows more stuff. Makes me wonder how old is that tomato..

If they do respawn it will require you to stay out of the area for a lengthy period of time. If you're using Whiterun as your primary housing location the odds are you are visiting too often to give the game a chance to reset things there.

This is a good point.

I have made it my goal to steal all of whiterun guards' shields, so maybe after that I will wait a bit and see if they ever get them back :P
