Let me name my save files! I have four different characters that I enjoy playing and its a pain to remember which save is a certain character.

I realize I could write down the save number, but come on...what happened here?

I Think it is possible on PC but I think there should be folders instead for characters, making it convenient.

It would definitely be nice if our saves were separated via character on the consoles. This is my biggest gripe with the game.

Yeah, I always searched for that but never found it.

I agree.

You could always save with the camera in third person perspective to get an actual snapshot of your character in the thumb nail.

Makes for easy identifying.

ON console if you stay on the save file long enough it will give you the details of the character, plus they're typically ordered in the order last saved aka played for some.

Forget naming saves. They should separate saves by character.

Go into your computer>user>my documents>my games>skyrim>saves

From there copy and paste your saves into a folder and name the character on folder. Then delete the saves in game and start new character. Thats the only way I know how to manage it. They really should have added character saves though.

That's what I was thinking. Swing the camera around and zoom in to their face so you can idenfity them from the screenshot.

This. I always have the camera facing my character, without a helmet, mask, etc. It makes it much easier. Plus it helps me not overwriting my wife's character lol.

No, it's not possible to rename your saves on PC, the game engine has it hardcoded this way.

I have always done this since Morrowind and still do to this day. Highly recommend it. Do the same thing in Fallout also.

Sure it is, using the command console. You just open it up and type "save" (or "savegame" forget which) followed by the name you want to give it.

You cannot actually "rename" a save file on PC . You can however use the console command to save a file with a specific name. The command is "save" and it will override saves with the same name without prompt.

Only drawback is since you cannot type quotes, your save names cannot contain white spaces.

Funny how Boiware can figure this out but Beth cannot.

As for renaming PC saves, you cannot do it from within the game w/o using the console; however nothing prevents you from doing it after you lewave the program in the save folder itself.

I second this notion. Though, this is the exact reason I have 4-5 saves per character. That way incase I save over one with a new character I have a backup or 4.
