Lack of Racial Interaction as a Vampire

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 7:20 am

This is an immersion breaking aspect of Vampirism that I noticed on my first experience of playing one, but I wondering if I judged too harshly and just experienced a bad moment of dialogue not working right.

In my experience, it seems becoming a vampire completely erases your racial profile. Therefor people of the same race will not talk to you as if you are kin. For example, Argonians will call you Land-strider instead of Egg-Brother. And given how Bethesda overlooks these details, I don't expect it to be fixed in Dawnguard.

So I ask, is anybody else experiencing this? Or am I experiencing some kind of unique racial glitch?

Actually i did some dialogue editing with the CK not too long ago, there is a vampire race for each race that can turn into a vampire, and IIRC the vampire races were not included in the conditions for racial comments, so it is supposed to work like that. Whether on purpose or an accident is anyone's quess

Ah, okay. Well, at least I know I'm not crazy. Although I am a little annoyed now.

I guess I'm changing my vote to Dawnguard.

I am curious though, what dialogue plays for certain points where they specifically mention race? Like when first talking to Galmor, or the lady cooking for DB?

Yup, that wouldn't be difficult, but very tedious finding all the lines where the new condition should be added.
