Screen Difficulties

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 1:43 am

I don't know about anyone else, but since I don't have a flat screen high deff tv, I can't see part of the screen when I play. On the bottom, I can almost never see my health bar and at the top I can almost never see the compass. I tried looking in settings for a margin setting but they don't have one. If Bethesda could just add that I would be so happy. It seems to me like I'm getting ripped because I don't have a huge tv that can display everything. I have a 27'' so it's not really that small, if we could just have an option to adjust the margins I would much appreciate it.

-Thanks for Reading

Does your tv have a picture size setting in the menu or on the remote?

That's very odd. O.o I used to play on a 17" TV and I never had this problem.

Forgive me for asking, but; do you have multiple characters? and is it like this with all of them?

Yes, it is like this for all my characters, I have died to many times to count because I can't see my health bar. I don't know if you played MW2 but they have a setting where you can adjust the margins of the screen, I think it would help if they did something like that. And I don't have any settings on my tv that help, trust me i tried for hours to fix this.

Ah i see that makes it a bit more difficult..well im not really sure how to fix it maybe try messing with the settings on your systems options menu on your dashboard if you use a ps3 or xbox i know the xbox has a screen ratio setting where you can pick different screen sizes based on what you use to connect it to your tv if that helps any.

Also, when I played oblivion I never had this problem. I could see everything perfectly, it's just something with Skyrim.

Yeah, I tried to do that but it made it to where I couldn't read anything and all the stuff was scrunched together. But thanks for trying to help.

It seems like more and more games are assuming that you have a great tv or monitor to play the games, it would just be nice if they would put in a margin setting haha

Yeah, I have played MW2, and I agree with you whole heartidly. Seems like something they shouldn't have missed. Sorry I couldn't be of any help. :(

It's fine, I just guess in order to enjoy my full Skyrim experience I will need to buy a high end tv or guess on when my health is low and I need to heal. LOL

This has nothing to do with screen size and everything to do with a feature called 'overscan'. Does your television have an option to display the full high definition signal as presented (on my Samsung HDTV, that option is called 'Just Scan')?

Your tv has got to have some option in the menus about your screen size or something related

Do you have a computer monitor?

EDIT: Which is to say, one good enough to use as a gaming display?
