Deep Frost and Necromancy Glitch

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 8:16 am

Hey there,

I'm playing as a necromancer right now and to add some offensive powers, i chose the frost path of destruction magic as well. Hence, today after upgrading the Deep Frost perk, i found an irritating glitch.

Everytime i raise a dead body killed by my frost magic, it neither moves nor attacks. It seems that this problem is related to the paralyzing effect of my spells.

Is there any fix for this glitch? If not, how can i remove deep frost perk and use up my point for another one?

Thanks

Go back to an earlier save.

You get like 81 points total to spend so if you mess up on a few of them it shouldn't be a big deal. Just level up some easy skills to get that point back.

It's a bug listed in the uesp.
If you kill someone while the deep frost perk is effect then reanimate them they will not move, basically there are still in a paralyzed state.
You will either need to not reanimate body's that were in the deep frost perk or go back to a save prior to taking the deep frost perk and take something else instead.

Thanks for all the replies. Unforunately all of my save files were after giving the Deep Frost perk but fortunately using the command console helped me make my character playable again.

Hope they fix this annoying bug soon. It (and as you already mentioned the Disintegrate perk) ruins the game for necromancers. I chose the frost path just because almost all necromancers use this type of destruction magic but i'm glad they don't have this perk!

Do you have this problem? Then open up the command console and use the following line to remove Deep Frost perk:
player.removeperk 000F3933

There does seem to be a problem when killing anything thats paralyzed on way or another, in that quite often the body will get back up when the paralyze wears off, and just runs on the spot, and doesn't even move for a Fus Roh Dah... and if you try to raise it and then kill it again.. it becomes completely un-interactable

It might have something to do with that
