Dragons -.-

Remember that first dragon you fought and how the theme music played and it was just so bad ass and then you were like hay can't wait to fight the next dragon and you start to travel and you get ready to fight and it just ignores you. Then you start chasing it and it doesn't try to fight until the dragon sees a bears and trys to kill it all the while completely ignoring you.-.-

Yes I remember that, then after many more hours of playing the game I got tired of fighting dragons all the time and now I'm glad when they go away.

I like to think that it is a friendly dragon that is just out for a little stroll. And then it gets savagely attacked by a bear! After defending itself, it flies off with another life experience.

Thats logical. You have to remember that not every Dragon wants to be village-burning monster. They all have different views just like us. There are the one who attack you on sight and then there are the ones who just circle around and checking you out.

Well that is true but man it seems that all dragons are saints in my game.

Except of course when they meet a deranged bear and go into a all out fight.

I've absorbed 14 dragon souls currently on queue and it's pissing me off that I actually have to fight them now and then. I'm glad some dragons choose to ignore me now.

I don't mind that a dragon ignores me; it allows me watching them. I'm each time amazed at how powerful and beautiful they are. :)

People who say it makes sense are reading too far into what is nothing more than an Ai prioritization hiccup.

Yes, that is true. But one does not simply blame AI for something in a game. You find a reason...

I was fighting a dragon that decided to disappear on the other side of the mountain. Its health bar was still showing and somehow it died, so I trek to the other side of the mountain to find two bears standing next to a dragon corpse. This single experience destroyed my perception of dragon fights.

Oh, but it's nice that the AI does such a thing.

No, it's bad programming. The Ai specifically targets things with the most hp, which will not always be the player, and that also isn't even taking into account that a smart Ai should always be trying to eliminate the small fry as quick as possible to minimize scratch damage.

My second dragon encounter came out of nowhere. I was chasing a deer then all of a sudden a dragon came down and tore me up. I was so not expecting it. Now I am happy when they just fly around.

Its really easy to tell if a dragon is hostile or not: Try to Rest. If the dragon is moving about and not entering combat, hit the Rest button, and itll let you rest or not. If it lets you rest, its a non-hostile dragon.

And the thing is? It has nothing to do with AI. These dragons that do this do not attack you or anything else. Infact, you CANT hit them. Not with spells or arrows, not even with dragon rend. They arent real enemies and cannot be engaged in combat. Just like children. This is clearly on purpose.

How about when they attack others but ignore you?
