So, I just joined the Thieves Guild in my current playthrough and went to go level my lockpicking in the training room, and I look over at a shelf and find a second set of the Thieves Guild armor. I know people were complaining about not knowing that they needed the armor and selling/loosing it and getting stuck in the quest line, so, when did Beth add in the second, respawning set?

I have a pair of boots spawn every few days next to a bed in the guild hall.

I noticed this as well.. the only thing I DIDN'T notice however... is the cuirass (torso) TG armor. The hood, boots, and gloves all spawn, but not the main piece.

i didnt know that you actually NEEDED it. ive completed most of that questline and i dont recall needing it.

I believe you need it to get the master's armor.

Don't think you need it. I know theres an optional quest to upgrade a piece of it, but I've gone through the story plenty of times without mention of it.

No you don't. I was wearing Ebony Armor when I got the master armor.

You used to need it to get the master armor, but Bethesda patched it due to people tossing it and being unable to complete the quest.

same I sold that piece of crap armour as soon as I got it I thought you needed to use the nightengale armour for thieves guild quest but the quest you need it for is right after you get the nightengale armour I think

That would be the case.

Yes therefore you need it to progress in the thieves guild master questline, if you don't have any TG armor you can't talk to tonilia about anything else, so you can't progress.

The torso piece is on top of the shelf on the right hand side when you enter the training room.
