Skyrim Vampire stages

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 5:58 am

I am currently playing a vampire and love it. It compliments the stealth/illusion play style perfectly and the day light penalties add an element of hardcoe that I have always wanted from Skyrim.

I've heard a lot of people say that the last stage of vampirism will be changed, with the release of Dawnguard, and NPCs will no longer be hostile if you are in this stage. If this is an intended change, I think the stages of vampirism should be reversed.

Stage 1 should have all abilities at their strongest and limited fire and day light weakness. The longer you go without feeding, the weaker your abilities become and the more vulnerable you become to sun light and fire. Feeding will return you to level 1, full power.

Otherwise there would be no reason not to remain in Stage 4 and the penalties received can easily be remedied. My suggestion however is perfect or complete, anyone else have anything to add to this?

If you aren't attacked at stage 4 you shouldn't be able to turn into a vampire lord at stage 4 either. Too blood starved or something like that. That is a decent enough drawback to keep me feeding.

I like your suggestion the best but if people complain about balance then give them the best abilties with the worst sun penalties.

I believe stage 4 vampirism is neglected by the npcs, when your character has obtain the power known as the vampire lord. Moreover I don't believe the hole known as Magnus ( Magnus is the sorcery god who was said to create the "blue prints" to the creation of Nirn) which is the "sun," will no longer be detrimental to vampires, if you choose to join the Valkihar Vampires and assist in their quest to cover the hole which is a hole (not in the literal sense) leading through Oblivion directly to Aetherius.

this.
you should be strongest when you feed. then as your hunger gets worst, your strength and abilitys decrease. it would make people get a real urgency to feed other than to stop npcs attacking you on sight...

Bethesda should have two different types of vampires.

1. Backwards feeding for Cyrodiilic-type vampires.

2. Regular feeding for Volkihar.

Just so some of us don't have to be forced to play a Volkihar vampire and NOT get attacked in stage 4. I like the backwards feeding.
