Is this really necessary? What is this thread doing for the community aside from inflating egos and trying to show off?

I am thinking about starting a steam group for anyone who play 1k hours in any game, but wondering how many hours people have and such a group will be worth while.... i like to learn about other poeple play styles. If they want to talk about, fine or not that is also fine. It is up to them, how long this topic will last...
