Clearing out the cache.

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 5:30 pm

Does anyone know if there is or could possibly be any stability issues with Skyrim if I was to clear my cache (Xbox 360) in order to undo the updates? I just want to take out the updates to do a couple of things and then I'll put it back on. But before I do I want to be sure that it isn't going to cause any massive problems with my game or game saves.

I don't think you can go back to previous versions on Xbox (with saves).

The saves will be invalid. Any DLC for any game will also not work

Edit: Not even for a second. You need the updates of games to play DLC

As long as no DLC is installed, you can do it and be relatively unaffected. I would recommend being quick about it though. Never know what kind of bugs you'll run into.

Well, forget that then. Something bad will happen, I can just feel it.

I made a post earlier about how difficult it is to decorate a house since the 1.6 update. Everything seems to be upside down in terms of the way that you used to hold items (using the A button on Xbox). It is especially bad for bottles (potions, mead, etc.). Since 1.6 they are held from the base, with the neck of the bottle pointing down making it especially difficult to place them with any type of consistency. What I was wanting to do was delete the updates, place items that I want around my house, and then put the update back.

Yeah, I wouldn't risk it, not at all. The save formats are different between versions for one thing.

All I've noticed is that Skyrim seems to be a lot buggier in the immediate wake of me playing something else, unless I clear the cache...
