Uh.. Hjerim House

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 1:59 pm

I LOVE Hjerim, and was elated when I found out I could buy it, but I assumed it'd be.. cleaned up. There's still blood on the floor, chest, shelf, and the creepy altar and body parts are still behind the hidden wall. Is it supposed to be this way? I'm not an evil character, and even if I was, I don't want to be living amongst the Butcher's filth..

edit cant spell

Wow that svcks, kinda surprised they left it that way. Honestly the houses in this game haven't been that good IMO. I guess the house would be great if you were roleplaying a necromancer/some murder, but if not...

Quick question: Did you have to join the Stormcloaks to get the house?

I'm not positive, but probably. I don't see how the Jarl would like you enough to give you the option unless you join the cause.

And it indeed svcks. Guess my husband and I won't be moving there.. *sigh*

I'd like to know this too. I finished the Imperial quest line, but would still like to buy Hjerim. The new Jarl did give me permission to buy land, but the quest to purchase the house won't start for me.

Spoiler

I was under the impression that the quest Blood on the Ice needed to be completed before purchasing Hjerim

It does have to be completed prior-to, yes.

Sigh, I am quite frustrated.. the furnishings are so beautiful, but I have blood and body parts all over the place!

Hold up! I just found something on another site that said you have to pay the Jarl 500 gold to clean up the Butchers mess. Go talk to the Jarl!!!!

I have the same problem! I love the house but i dont want body parts all over the place. I also read that there is an option to clean it up by paying 500 to the steward or jarl, but i did not have such option either. Bethesda needs to adress this.

I did not see that option either.

At least I figured out how to get the guest bedroom furnished...Which is simply going back to the Jarl and completing the quest requirements to become Thane.

Now....If I could just get the blood and sacrificial laboratory out of the house....
