Please remove the cap on unarmed combat or fix the "Fist

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 11:58 pm

As the topic states, the perk says it adds armor rating to the damage which it doesn't, it only adds the base armor rating which is like 14 for deadric gloves. Add your base damage and double enchant of +12 unarmed (ring and gloves) and you get a cap of 45. Only way to pass it is rolling a [censored] cat that raises it to 61.

Please fix the perk to properly add the armor that you currently have on your gloves (upgraded, etc) so that unarmed isn't neglected at higher levels. So much fun bashing people skulls and for other peopel that will object saying that will be better then weapons - no it won't, weapons can go all the way to 500 dmg ~^

Agreed... Unarmed chars are just fun to play.

There is something appealing on a primal level, about having a blood crazed lunatic who is fighting hordes of undead, dragons, bandits, imperial legionares, etc. with nothing but his bare fists. This kind of person does not give a F***. They will not rest until the whole world is trampled below their feet, for having the indecency of coming to a fist fight with a weapon, like a B****.

Too bad. You should've known that before you bought any Bugthesda's releases, you'd be in for a multitude of bugs. Welcome to the world of The Elder Bugs V:Skyrim!

I don't know where it is, but I saw a youtube video (full of cussing, but a really nice foreign accent!) of a guy who used nothing but punching to kill dragons, everyone. It's really funny, but it shows that hand to hand combat is viable all the way to the higher levels. Get the Gloves of the Pugilist, disenchant them and enchant your own gear.

euhmm.. the highest weapon damage I have seen with a bow with all 5 dmg perks + 100% enchantment bonuses + upgraded deadric bow with 100% fortify smithing + 100 smithing skill + 100 archery = around 300 dmg..........

for melee weapons this is a lot less and deadric gauntlets with max smithing upgrade gives it an armor rating of around 200 so gauntlets will end up being just as powerful per hit as swords except that hands hit a lot faster than swords so yeah hand to hand can become more powerful than armed combat if the perk were fixed..... this would obviously be ridiculous

No that equals 600+ damage (the daedric bow). You can get 1100+ damage for 2h weapons and 700+ for 1h. I know because I did this on my first playthrough, and it bored the hell out of me ha. Nice to test the game system though.

I just want the perk to do what it says "Unarmed attacks with Heavy Armor gauntlets do their armor rating in extra damage."
currently it doesnt do that

edit:

did the same thing on my first playthrough, 1 shotting pretty much everything get boring fast, personally I think going unarmed will make the game more difficult no matter what, (it certainly does the way it is now) seeing as there is only 1 perk which makes it better and you can only enchant fortify unarmed on 2 pieces of gear and those enchantments can only give you plus 28 damage maximum...compare that to the weapons with 40% increases and many damage perks ad sneak attack perks how the [censored] could unarmed be op compared to that

I would also like to see this acknowledged as either a bug or something that was intentional. Is there any chance of this getting patched?

To me it just makes sense that unarmed does a hell of a lot less damage than any weapon. If anything, maybe better chance of paralyze simulating knockouts. He should be weak wrt dealing damage, but at the same time, there should be stuff that only could be done for unarmed.

And, quests should be less focused on actually having to kill the target.

So, you got people arguing here that powerful weapons made the game boring, and that unarmed is "weak" making the game more difficult, and now want unarmed to do more damage, making the game easier?

This is how I feel. You're punching something for god sake. Sword > Fists.

It gives base armor in damage, which I think is fine enough. Playing as a "[censored]" cat gives you a cap of 68 dmg, which is slightly less tham using a sword and not abusing smith/enchant/alchemy to give it 9001 dmg.

PS: khajiit are awesome

Good point, but then again if you were to attack someone with a sword, who was trained in unarmed combat, you would have your [censored] handed to you. You can do some serious damage to people with metal knuckles.

It would be nice to be able to play like that, be able to dodge attacks, maybe disarm the enemy through an unarmed skill etc.
