Anything that involves a lot of physics calculations will bog the frame rate down. Getting hit by unrelenting force or ice form etc will make the frames drop considerably. Also the fogging effect in some caves makes the frames drop even further.

Only time I have noticed noticable or visual stuttering is using clear sky in a real snowy area and hitting the ground causing snow to fly up making the game be like "wait this gets rid of particles but you just generated a crap load WTF!??" also one time full Unrelenting Force on a wagon.....got it wedged in a corner and it "climbed" up the house and flew up a good 30ft though that was a major physics "bug" personally I find them funny and fun to play with. :obliviongate:

Yes, I do notice it in some rather specific moments.

Here is a list :user:

1: Particle effects emitted emitted from waterfalls.

2: Particle effects emitted from a dragon priest directly after death.

3: Certain areas in caves where there is a very bright light, usually coming from an opening in the cave. I believe this is apparent in a few areas of Bleak Falls Barrow.

4: Makarth has an overall sluggish feel to it. It seems to only be an issue when you are facing the majority of the city at one time. It doesn't seem to take as much of an effect when you stand in the middle. It was really bad if you *POSSIBLE SPOILER*

chose to escape with the Forsworn from Markarth's jail in the The Forsworn Conspiracy quest. The battle taking place after leaving the jail seemed to bring the Xbox to its knees....as if somebody had taken an arrow to one of the- *gets shot*

5: In Riften, there seems to be a slight amount when viewing the center area where the stalls are set up from a distance. When there are fewer NPCs in the area (nighttime), it seems to go away. Riften also seems to chug a bit as if it's loading something every couple minutes.

6: In the Thieves Guild's headquarters, The Ragged Flagon, there is a very slight frame rate drop when viewing the entire main room (the area where the majority of the thieves are with the big circle of water). I also remember a drop in the area outside the room where *POSSIBLE SPOILER *
Spoiler
you first meet Esbern.

7: The Dark Brotherhood Dawnstar Sanctuary, *POSSIBLE SPOILER *
Spoiler
Particularly before it's rebuilt.

8: Particle effects emitted from the geysers in the Eastmarch area.

I'll add to this list if I find/remember more.

Yep I notice a lot of magic being used it started lagging on me since the latest update, plus since the latest update i had my first freeze when in menu trying to save the game. Also in options my autosaves are turned off but somehow it froze a few seconds saying autosaving.

Yeah.. I've had a few stutters here and there.. nothing too major. From past experience with open world games I get nervous when the frame gets stuttery that the game will soon crash. So I quit out and restart the game. This doesn't seem to clear much up in this game though. I didn't notice anything like this before 1.3. I'm just assuming that the low rez texture bug actually prevented the stuttering since it had less it had to render and now that it's fixed we'll see more stutters and flutters.

No I actually noticed a general fps increase but I'll also say that I always lag in icy dungeons for some reason and still do after the update.

Saw this yesterday during the first half of the Azura's Star quest. There was a ton of effects being used from waterfalls to mist and water dripping, and the frame rate was definitely slower than normal. Not slide show, but not smooth like usual. Also, at the boss battle in here it got really choppy and did turn into a slide show for a few minutes at the end. Fortunately, I was able to finish the area and get out and the frame rate went back to normal once I got out of there.

It's well known that particle effects are the Achilles heel of game performance for any game on any system. Water mist, fog, spell effects, dust clouds from dragons landing, etc all can take a significant toll on FPS.

I've had problems when I've played for a lengthy period of time or if I'm forced to walk away from the game and leave it paused.

What's helped me is save, completely shut down the 360, and then load up the console and game, ten to fifteen minutes later. I've had pretty smooth performance not leaving it on and idle.

But I've also started completely fresh with each new patch. Clearing the cache, deleting my saves from the System menu (I try to keep away from hitting the triple digits now, because I had some instability with a few of those saves when I was on the 1.1 patch) and starting from scratch. It gets a tad annoying, but the way I see it, I'll be replaying this game for the next few months anyway!

Any area that is heavy in spiderwebs and chauros eggs makes my framerate drop by at least half.
