It's working pretty good for me I'm not having really any problems with it except the texture bug but I still have a save file on 1.1 on my USB in case I want to ditch 1.3.
1.dragons have been fixed
2.resistances work like they should
3.no lag that I have seen of
4.loading time has gone down a little as it's installed to my USB

same as Austin174, i don't see anything wrong with Skyrim other than some little nit picky NPC funny stuff on the X360.

I'm a 45 year old gamer so i don't go in for all the fan boy PS3 vs Xbox stuff. I'm all for picking your system and games and have fun, that's what its about after all. But a friend of mine had to go to GameStop and trade in his PS3 copy for the Xbox copy of Skyrim and they told him PS3 copy's was being traded in by the truckload for Xbox copy. Maybe if your one of the unlucky ones that's having really bad problems that's something you might want to look into.

1.3 seems pretty good, in terms of no 'new' bugs introduced in the same way that 1.2 created. No texture problems for me, even after installing it to the HDD, so I guess this problem is fixed (for me at least). The game seems smoother too, i.e. when moving around the landscape/dungeons, it doesn't freeze or stutter as much, which I assume is down to the game loading in. There can still quite a nasty freeze of several seconds when you press 'B' to bring up the menu, but I assume this is down to the game either loading in data or decompressing stuff for the menus/inventory, or perhaps it is defragmenting memory (which is a major issue for a game like this). Obviously, this is just a guess, but looking at it logically, this game is big and it all cannot fit into the Xbox's memory at the same time. Knowing you can walk from one edge of the landscape to the other without getting any loading screens like when you go between the indoors/outdoors of cities, then I expect the game has to do 'something' in order to put 3.8Gb of compressed data into 512Mb memory, while the game is still running.

I have noticed a few other additional fixes in version 1.3 that have not been mentioned in the Patch Update information. For example, (I noticed this bug on version 1.1) when you open the menu to look at your objects in your inventory, and then you press up and down to see each individual item, as each new item first appeared, the object would frequently glitch. This only lasted a fraction of a second, but did look messy. It was like the game was trying to draw the object before it was fully loaded in. Hence, all the polygons weren't loaded correctly and the game drew a big mess. But, since updating to version 1.3, I have not seen this problem.

Minor bug alert in version 1.3 (but this has been in all versions): Has anyone else noticed that when you are 'smithing' at a forge and you are looking at the items you can create, when you press 'left' to close the sub-list of the armour type (e.g. if you are looking at 'ebony' armours, then you press 'left' which closes the current armour list and then you can scroll up/down to select a new armour type, like glass, elven, etc), then as you press left and the sub-menu fades out, the text box will flash up 'Banded iron armour' before it fades out?

Oh you have been missing so much. Do not worry about the bugs and just play the game. That is like saying you will never go outside again being afraid to catch a cold. You will catch a cold eventually but deal with it. Just like in the game you will encounter a few bugs, but deal with it. You are missing so much by not playing.

He can not miss the whole thing either, when the game isn't broken hopefully by January.

I love Thieves Guild, and now I can't even play it.

Bugs are a way of life with Elder Scroll games. It has been this way since Morrowind back on the original XBOX. If you want to play this series, then you have to accept the fact that bugs are as much a part of the series as the games themselves. Based on my personal experience with Skyrim so far, I would say that the 1.3 patch brings the game to a far more playable state than any of the previous offerings.

If you are waiting for a bug free version of Skyrim, it is never going to happen, so you may as well sell your copy and move on to other titles from other developers.

Trust me on this... I have been playing Elder Scrolls games on consoles for over 10 years now, and it is always the same old problem. I'm surely not happy with this reality, but for one reason or another, the development team at Bethesda seems incapable or releasing any title that doesn't have a ton of problems from day one. I thought by now, with all the money they have raked in, they would have the resources and the manpower to produce more reliable products, but as we have all seen so far with Skyrim, that just isn't happening. Many of the major bugs get worked out eventually, but we are talking months and months of patches to get to that point. That was how it went down with Oblivion and Morrowind before it.

So that is the reality. If you are bug averse, then best to trade in your game and avoid anything made by Bethesda in the future. Otherwise, bite the bullet, download the 1.3 patch and jump in with both feet with the full knowledge that YOU ARE going to encounter bugs along the way. Its just the way it is. ;)

Ive been playing since morrowind and I knew it would have game breaking bugs from the onset. They always do. I just would rather wait and not have to worry about much. Im not the type that NEEDS to play anyways. I take my time with this series and they oten times take me a few years to complete so its no worries. I already got my fix, so Im not really upset about it or anything; just wondering when I can play because I just finished Arkham City

I have not noticed any significant issues post 1.3 install. I have the game installed to the HDD. I do still see that there are some texture issues, but overall the game looks gorgeous and after about 75 hours in; I can say that this is the best game I've played. This game is a life-stealer. Happy questing!

As I said...1.3 gives you the best version of this game so far, so I see no point in waiting for another patch. I played up to level 40 with no magic resistance which was not an easy thing to do, so now the game is almost too easy with all my built in resistances finally doing what they're supposed to. It finally feels like I am playing with a leveled character for the first time and aside from the occasional framerate drop or bugged quest, I see no reason to remain on the sidelines.

Of course the decision is yours to make, but if you still have the desire to experience Skyrim, now would be a good time to start. Otherwise, sell or trade in the game and buy it back a year from now when it is cheaper and the majority of the problems have been resolved. ;)

If you do decide to play now, just be sure to clear your cache before applying the 1.3 patch and try to keep the number of saves files you keep to a minimum. I also run with only one character which may or may not help to keep the game from freezing on you, but I haven't had a game freeze in weeks and I play at least 2 hours a night. I noticed a definite lag in bringing up the save menus if I let my number of saves get too numerous. As a rule, you don't need to go back more than a few saves anyway, so keeping everything from day one is kind of silly in my opinion. I do always hold on to my first half dozen saves from the start of the game in case I decide to start over with the same character once I have finished the game. But other than that, I always delete all my saves from my most recent mission once I have completed it, leaving two or three on the system just in case, but eventually, I delete those too when I start another quest.

P.S. I have always played from the HDD since the load times are noticeably shorter than compared to playing off the DVD.

Good post man. Im only 22 but I have been playing elder scrolls since morrowind but never got a chance to play the first two games. My favorite two series are elder scrolls an gears. Both of them have always had there bugs an what not, you just have to keep playing an be paitent an things will get fixed. I mean it's not like they can just snap there fingers or click there heels an all the bugs an glitches magically fix themselves.

This is not a movie or game it's real life an it's gonna take some time to fix these things me included. So people just need to play what they can until this gets polished out.

Path 1.3 is working pretty well.

In general fixes bugs without adding new other bugs (like 1.2)

The only NEW bug i see is:

In Spanish version of game, diacritics seem broken. For example: " ruby " in spanish is " rubĂ " with i diacritic. In the game this i letter appears as an empty square.

Its a minor bug compared with others...no gameplay problems

Patch 1.3 is working well on the Xbox, its working well on the PC version as well... do note though, Patches vary from system to system. 1.3 is labeled as 1.3.5 for the xbox, and 1.3.7 for the PC, I'm sure that the Playstation as well has a different patch number. Issues are addressed differently for each system, and while one system may get a fix for one thing, the other may not.

i am still having many issues with quest items! i just started another quest, a miscellaneous quest "speak to elisif with tarrie's outfit on" i am supposed to wear the stores fine clothes and speak to the jarl. the problem is when i except the quest the game says the clothes are added, but they are not. so I thought i would out smart the game and go into the store and buy a pair of clothes with the same name. I found a pair, purchased it, but it was still not in my inventory (though my money was gone). so i reloaded the game thinking i could again out smart the game by buying the clothes before i excepted the quest. I bought them, checked my inventory and they were there. i talked to "taarie" to activate the quest, checked my inventory again, and again the item was not there! WTF i hate this game. i find more problem with it then i find enjoyment in playing........ maybe it is time to trade my first game in in over 5 years?.........
