hardcoeRealism Gameplay

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 9:36 pm

I'm looking for more things to add to help immerse myself in the game. I try to play on master, but it can get furating at times. The examples I didn't mention was eat three times a day (is that too much?), sleep nine hours a day, and only carry one hundred to one and seventy five pounds. Also what do you guys thinking about looting from the dead and then wearing their gear? I know it happens in real life, but would you honestly wear the armor you just recently killed? I can understand looting and equipping the weapons. Before you say mods please read my signature.

Really? Usually I see it as people asking for a hardcoe/realism mode or mod, but I have to see a thread like this on the first page or search.

Carry only your character's armor/clothing, one or two weapons and a handful of potions. Nothing more - loot only coins and items with a very light weight, such as gems. If your encumbrance gets over 70 or so, you know you're carrying too much.

What would you say is a good amount of potions for a guy who does not use restoration and then for a guy uses restoration? For the weapon and armor, are you saying the only time I can loot armor and weapons is during Helgen?

Thanks it makes the game more challenging which equals a fun and enjoyable experience for me. Without gimping myself even master is too easy.

Edit - Didn't mean to double post.

My non-magic character usually carried around 9 minor healing potions, or 5 of the stronger ones. It adds a bit of challenge to the game, but that's a part of the realism.

As for Helgen: my characters tend only to take the armor and weapon they're given (either Stormcloak or imperial), plus the Mage's robes from the torture room. That's it. :)

But in all honestly, you should play how YOU like. That's the best way to play!

To be honest I do the same, but if I use heavy armour I will loot the imperial captian (?) What about stamina potions for warriors? Also you never answered for mages =3

Yeah, I'd do that - just swap the light armor for the heavy. I do it with the War Axe and Imperial Sword.

I've never used stamina potions, personally. And my Mage carries the same as my warrior - a few healing potions, that's all.

Not even magicka (magic?) potions? Okay so lets leave helgen, I have full Imperial except the iron sheild and helmet I happened to find. At that point the only gear I would get is from me smithing correct? Speaking of smithing would it be best to always mine the ore and make the ingots or is it okay to occassionally buy extra ingots?

Hello DanielMitchell. It's good to see you.
This thread has been posted numerous times...

...so have vampire threads in the past, and look what that has managed to achieve, a whole DLC pack dedicated to the theme. I think we will be seeing more and more repetitious threads. The vampire precedent proves Beth listens to the vocal majority, so some will try to get the same message across. OT, I'm all in favour of hardcoe mode.
