Dragons absorbing souls

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 1:52 am

Recently something has occured to me that seems to go against the lore, now this feature isn't hard to implent since our very own dragonborn does this very often with dragons. Soul absorbing, and by that I mean when we die against a dragon shouldn't our soul be absorb by the dragon who had the honor to defeat us in combat? Now I know of the dragon strength in game play and how pathetic is in combat specially against are pc, but with the arriving of dawnguard and it new dragons(Which I hope have many shouts) I would like to see are defeat by dragon and make it seem more epic by having our soul being absorbed into the dragon.

Thoughts?

From UESP: "Although Arngeir said that dragons have the same ability as the Dovahkiin that allows them to absorb a slain dragon's soul, receive its knowledge, and use this to master a new shout, it never happens during gameplay." They should implement it though, it would be cool.

All dragons are childeren of Akatosh even the dragonborn so if the dragonborn can absorb his other kin souls and Akatosh does nothing about it, then why should we expect such courtesy from him?

they probably didnt implement it, because normally dragons don't kill each other ingame. the already named dragon is an exception and they didn't want to implement it only for him.

in short: lazy.

The developers being lazy is a possibilty, but wouldn't it make skyrim more fun knowing that if you lose to a dragon that your soul will be absorbed.
