I guess it's the immense amount of people trying to get it at the same time

Some posts on the blog mentioned that it wasn't available in their region yet, so you may just have to be patient. It's possible that a simultaneous worldwide release wasn't technically feasible due to bandwidth concerns, though most of the crushing demand is coming from the high resolution texture pack. I guess those of us in the PC crowd that represent the minority of Skyrim purchases can still make our presence known...


There are better ways to start your relationship with the forum community. The fact that the Creation Kit is not listed as "Skyrim Creation Kit" or something is sure to trip up a lot of people. If it's not showing up for you, you either have to restart your Steam client or wait until it is available in your region.


This has nothing to do with beta participation. You likely just needed to restart your Steam client properly in order for it to show up under Tools.

I'm in Wisconsin, So don't think i'd be that far off.

I've change some of my options, which force restart for them kick in.
Still nothing. I'll keep trying.

I'd really wish they'd give Nexus team the green light to host it on there.

That's what tripped me up at first. Simply listed as "Creation Kit" allows it to be overlooked. The size of the texture pack is just over 3GB, which might slow things up for some people as well. Even with cable it's running slow for me.

That's a highly disingenuous use of the word properly. Are you suggesting that people who don't see it in the tools list are not starting Steam properly? Can you not understand that people are not seeing it listed, and it has nothing to do with them doing anything incorrectly?

I mean for the Steam client to be restarted "properly," it must close completely, thus severing all connection with Steam before being relaunched. Just because the icon disappears from your system tray doesn't mean the process hasn't closed. When Steam prompts you with a "restart steam" button, it properly closes and restarts Steam. An over-eager user might not wait until it actually stops the process.

Pretty much have been restaring it past hour and half... or itlest when people aren't dieing in Red Dawn...

Also I live on the East Coast. Two states under Maryland to be exact. It isn't a region issue. If you read all the posts in the thread, then you would know that I've already restarted steam numerous amounts of time including one just seconds before this post. Still not there.
