"Not Responding"

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 1:07 pm

I've downloaded the High Texture Res pack as well as the CK and have ran into 2 issues. First issue is the textures look no different than they did before, and yes I've made sure the data files are checked. Secondly, when opening the CK it quickly says "Creation Kit has stopped responding" shortly followed by it crashing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, my system specs exceed recommended if that has anything to do with the textures.

Did you actually download the Texture Pack completely?

For most people the download has been suspended...

Like previous editors, the Creation Kit typically appears to stop responding when loading data files like Skyrim.esm. If you leave it for a minute or 3, does it become responsive again?

It's a 3.1 gb download, are you sure you downloaded the whole thing?

As for the CK, it crashes before you do anything at all? Or once you load an esm/esp? Loading those takes forever and your computer may say it has crashed but if you let it keep going it should load out just fine.

I got it downloaded completely. Parts 1 and 2 in the data files are checked. 3.1 gigs downloaded I believe

It stops responding, it goes greyish then crashes and the program closes

"Going greyish" is just Windows' way of indicating that a program is not responding. Typically, if you try to interact with a program in this state a dialogue will appear that implies the program has crashed. Does this still happen if you leave the Creation Kit alone?

Yes it still crashes regardless.
