Weapons in the CK

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 6:09 pm

I'm trying to create a new weapon type (hand to hand melee weapon)

and in the CK wiki it shows under Models section "Armor list: used when a weapon requires skin geometry"

but in the CK itself this option is nowhere to be found... unless i'm missing something

Easiest way to do this is just to duplicate the weapon that you want your new weapon to look like and change the properties.

there is no precedent in Skyrim to duplicate (i.e. there is no such thing as a hand-to-hand melee weapon in skyrim that already exists)

also the "change the properties" is exactly what i'm talking about. it shows the property i need in the wiki, but it is nowhere to be found in the actual CK window where it says its supposed to be

Yeah there is, but I'm sure it is an armour/glove and not actually a weapon. All it does is fortify unarmed damage.

thats not what i'm looking for but thanks anyway

what i'm trying to make is an actual equippable weapon that requires specific gauntlets to be worn when using it. according to the wiki there is supposed to be a section under Models that allows you to select the gauntlets. but its not there in the CK

Can't you just use a script to simulate that effect?

ive already got handtohandmelee set in the animations.

in the models section (to the left of animations) you can see it only shows Model and 1st Person Model Object.

but in the wiki it says its also supposed to have Armor List and World model in the same section there. but its not there in the CK

I'm pretty sure you need to extract all the model & texture bsa files if you want to select different models. You should check out the mod community for your answer. They have some handy tools that can extract nifs out of bsas.

the ck reads bsa files natively. thats not the issue. i'm already able to browse and select all of the meshes that currently exist in skyrim

this is the issue: http://i43.tinypic.com/r9ra1k.jpg

and yes, i know that in the screenshot i dont have any meshes selected. i also tried it with default meshes both 3rd and 1st person as well as gauntlet meshes, the armor list option never shows up

i'm probably overlookig something very obvious, but i cant figure it out
