A few questions that I can't find an answer to

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 1:31 am

Please help. I'm not sure if anyone has asked these questions yet. If so, please direct me to the appropriate thread:

1. When I'm in game, how do I find the coordinates of a specific location? For example, if I find a cliff that I'd like to build a castle on, how can I find the cell and grid location in game? Is there a console command? I did look over the cheat sheet for commands and didn't find it.

2. Is there a way to cut/paste objects? For example, if I build that same castle in a flat, new cell, can I copy the entire tower and paste it on that cliff that I found? I know that there is a "duplicate" command, but I don't know if you can move objects from one cell to another?

3. Is there a wire mesh 3D design tool that I can use to create the castle? For example, if I don't want to use the pre-built kits and I want to create my own unique kit, but use the same texture maps, do I have to use a 3rd party application like 3DS?.... 3DS is like $3,700.00 :-(

Thanks for the help

OK...after a bit more searching and thinking, try this to get the position of your character:

player.getpos

where is x, y, or z

Not sure how that will translate in the creation kit yet though...

edit:
divide the x and y result by 4096 and you will get the number needed in the creation kit to bring you to that location

Blender is free. But you are looking at a whole new can of worms.Learning to 3d model is no easy task.
