Region Gen Data missing?

Im looking at the region generation data for existing regions in tamriel but all the object data lists are blank. i tried making my own region and copying details and then applying them to a world space but all i get are crashes.

bug? coming in a later patch? or something i dont understand? (wiki seems to have no info on region editing at the moment :/)

For what I've checked yesterday the objects are missing, this probably makes the point that Bethie wasn't lying when claiming all was object placing hand made, we don't know if adding any values to these generators will do anything at all, guess we have to try it out, but believe me, all I know on region generating was on the basis of changing the existing setups for Oblivion regions, doing that from scratch will be a very painful process.

cant see bethesda not using their region gen system for skyrim. only info i found is that on wik sayingi its mainly used for weather mapping to certain areas.
its a bother. im too lazy to hand place landscaping material.

If it all has to be placed by hand then we can kiss goodbye to the majority of new landmasses and the like. Honestly just what do Bethesda think they were giving us here? So far Heightmap editor doesnt work, LOD crashes on being produced and so far as we now know the region editor doesnt work. IF this is the case then the CK is pathetic.

Yeah, and their height mapping is broken too. If Region Editing is as well, then I have to hand shape AND Clutter 1100 exterior cells. -_-

Seriously Bethesda? This just gets better and better...

The fields are just empty people, that doesn't mean that the region generator doesn't work.

Notice that they created audio regions, this meaning the region was faked only to have a full set of sounds attached to a certain area, and old trick from Morrowind modding, as for the rest and for what I've seen all setup for their regions are blank, meaning there was no object placing at all, yes, we're back to good old Morrowind days. but I may be wrong and didn't see it properly, there's a lot of new stuff to digest.

My CK is currently producing LOD (well its working through the list but whether it crashes or not...) so I cant take a poke at the region editor. As soon as it finishes (crashes) then I will try making a test region and populating it. I was pretty good at region editing with the CS so as long as the editors arent too different it wont take me long. I sincerely hope that the region editor wasnt limited too. This is beginning to look like a purpose hamstringing rather than random errors.

But exile said he tried filling it in and using it, and it just crashed a bunch on him.

What I don't get is how, if it worked in previous kits, how did they explicitely break it for the CK!? Can we just get the same thing that worked before? That doesn't sound like it would cost them any money or very much time. No need to upgrade, enhance, improve, or fix bugs. Just give us the Heightmap editing, and Region Editing that worked in previous kits. That's all.

EDIT: I just tried it, I selected a random region in Tamriel, drew a random shape, threw some trees in the Object List and hit generate. It took about 15 seconds, then it completed. Though, it placed 0 objects and it said all 9000 of them failed because of height. But it places them, which leads me to believe it works just fine.

What steps are you doing to make it crash, exile?

PS. Ill do this to my own new worldspace after school.
