tired of my current spec and "workflow"

Hi

I am a lvl 18 melee warrior with 2 handed spec and some restoration. I am getting tired and bored of it - it's the same and the same all over, with some awesome random finishing blows here and there.

I am wondering, whether it would be smart for me to start using a secondary way of progressing. For instance 1hander+shield (is dual wield possible?) or perhaps some magic.

I know almost anything is possible in this game, but I would like to be really good at few things and I am wondering what they might be?

Using block more actively with 2h weapons makes it a lot more fun, invest in the x5 bash damage. Other than that you can ditch armor and go with robes + alteration.

U should try a magic build. I actually did the same thing as you and got tired of it quick. Magic adds much more variety.

Why don't you test out different playstyles (magic, stealth, one handed, archery) and stick to the one you like the best?

I have an odd feeling you'd get a more correct answer from your own experiences than from others'.

First off, raise the difficulty level.

see difficulty level is kinda weird.. I play on Expert and most of the enemies are relatively easy to kill, but sometimes I meet a sabre cat which I simply can't beat

the reason why i dont try it out myself is because i was reserving main magic spells for my second playthrough, but since this game seems to be rather endless, I might end up doing some radical changes

Yeah, this is good advice. For me, if I'm bored with a character, time to either start over or obsessively start clearing quest lines. But at level 18, you probably haven't seen that much of the game. Develop a crafting skill, let the enemies scale, and then see if it's still boring.
