Error while saving. Dual screen problem (fix)

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 7:20 pm

This is about an error that I've been experiencing that I think was caused by dual screen thought I'd just post how I fixed it if anyone else gets the problem.

Problem: Every time I try to save an error message along the lines of "Must close all dialogue boxes" appears even if nothing is loaded or open even if the editor has just been opened.

Solution: Seems to be a random error with dual screen.. what I did deleted SkyrimEditorPrefs.ini then deactivated one of my screens in the screen resolution options.. opened the editor again in single screen mode and seems to work perfectly when reactivating second screen.

Anyway enjoy if this helps anyone who had my problem.

I spent 7 hours in the construction kit yesterday, using my laptop to display the wiki, my right screen for the render window, and my left screen for the object window and cell view. I haven't had a single issue with the game not saving properly. I'm also running Crossfire on two Radeon 6950s, so perhaps that is preventing whatever error you're getting.

Hopefully you'll be able to find a different resolution, as I don't think I could stand not being able to use both monitors when working on a mod.

Just fixed it... was looking over some other editors like geck for the problem.. its because of ultramon the dual screen program that adds a second taskbar etc. So wasn't the dual screen after all.
