Go on their website and have a look.

The verification code is case sensitive, I'd suggest just copying and pasting it.

Plus your problem is with steam, you'll get better help at the steam forums.

I had the same problem with my older account. They make it practically impossible to recover anything. Luckily I only had a $5 game on it so I didn't care.

One: This forum is for Skyrim, not steam support.

Two: Send Steam Support a message (they have a really easy feature to follow), along with your CD-KEY for Skyrim to confirm that you are the owner of the Skyrim account. Then, they will reset your password.

And don't worry about anyone "stealing" your cd-key, it's tied to your steam account.

You don't need a password to open a support ticket, to the best of my knowledge. https://support.steampowered.com/newticket.php

If you have not yet created a unique Steam Support account for the Steam Support system, you can do so by clicking Create Account button below. Your Steam Support account is a separate account from your Steam or Forum account. It does not exist by default. Please do not attempt to enter your Steam account information for the Steam Support system, as it will not work.

On that page is a place to enter your account name if you have forgotten your password, too.

If you have lost your password

Email or Username

I've gotten my password reset after I lost my account information, including my password. Their tech people aren't that bad to deal with.
