Is it possible to be running Skyrim and the C.K. at the same time and switch between them to check how they look without closing one of them? I tried Skyrim in windowed Mode and it doesn't work.

Alt+Tab or Win+Tab, but the plugin cannot be saved by the CK when open in SKyrim or anything else, so you'll have to restart Skyrim to test changes.
