How to max out armor rating?

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 10:27 am

I've read that people have maxed out the armor rating with light armor or steel. And that you don't need to get deadric. I'm trying to do that with ebony. Any help? I've already gotten deadric. I just want to know how.

I am not 100% but I believe that you still need to have blacksmithing up to 100 and then enchant basiclly a suit of balcksmithing equipment. 25% on everything possible and then drink a 50% blacksmithing potion. add them all up and it's somewhere near 150% you can improve on. I have seen steel hit the cap but was on the PC so mods could be in use.

Keep looking, check youtube and good luck.

It is apparently possible to hit the cap with any type of armor. There is a series of threads about it (last thread is http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1317202-complete-character-design-freedom-damage-resist-caps-and-ridiculous-damage-thread-8/ I think)

This method should work with ebony easily. When I said that in the other thread I wasn't sure about steel. You probably need a stronger set of enchanting gear/potion. Also this is very dependant on having the perks that come with the heavy armor tree
