Skyrim wont detect my monitor's resolution.

Hey everyone,
When I load up Skyrim, I don't see the resolution that my monitor is best for (1600x1200), but rather gives me other options that don't really look, eh good. However, it does give me the option to do a widescreen mode of 1600x1200, and its called like letterbox or mailbox or something. (cant check, not on the correct computer ATM.) I tired playing it but wide screen has always driven me nuts when I don't have a widescreen monitor, TV, etc, to the point where i cant play it anymore. I was wondering if anyone knows a fix for this, or if there is a way i can manually put in my monitor Resolution through the games read me or something. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

wow i figured out the answer two seconds after I posted this, in case anyone has some similar problem, you just need to flip the aspect ratio from widescreen to standard.

I have a similar issue but have no resolutions offered for any screen type widescreen or standard.

I have to reinstall the NVIDIA drivers every time!! Then it works fine for that session. Switch off and then on again and the resolutions disappear.

You could try installing your Nvidia drivers as admin.

And also use driver cleaner after the uninstall, to make sure your drivers aren't corrupting due to left over garbage. I had to do that process on my girlfriends laptop.

Skyrim can't seem to figure out my own either, dunno why ;) (Just get used to editing skyrimprefs.ini, you're going to be doing a lot of that so meh find the lines for the resolution in there and just set them yourself)
